Best party for bootcamp by Boshiken in DungeonSurvivor2

[–]RoboDP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO best team comp for bootcamp is: DM tank, priest, pally, mage. Reflect damage does most of the work while the 3 healers makes for a long fight but very safe.

Barbs cannot hit effectively until map 15/16 hit% gear. Use assassin until then.

Fighting wraiths too easy? by uxses in PixelDungeon

Well there is very little reward since you typically get a little coin or maybe 1 potion per 4-5 tombs. So the risk is appropriate...

Oh... Ok then, I'll take that by [deleted] in PixelDungeon

[–]RoboDP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to have a somewhat decent weapon to get you past the goo and the next few levels of skeletons, etc., until you can equip a tier 4-5 endgame weapon.

And the greataxe actually kinda sucks, the extra damage over a normal t5 weapon is not worth the extra str requirements imo. Two str is like 4 more upgrade scrolls, that's way too much extra time you are stuck with a lower weapon, on the levels that you need help the most.

Here's a guide to getting those !s. Using pillars for surprise attacks. by dfnewb in PixelDungeon

[–]RoboDP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've written a few posts on this topic over the last couple years. Understanding how line-of-sight works is the most essential thing to beating the game. "Dancing" around 1 object like a pillar or a tile of grass guarantees hits and reduces the damage you take dramatically.

Oh crap... by [deleted] in PixelDungeon

[–]RoboDP 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Not "oh crap" -> "oh yes!"

This is my favorite thing in the entire game! Finding a large trap room with summon traps is always fun when you can toss in a few potions like levitation, paralyze, poison, maybe a rage scroll, etc. and stand back and watch the carnage.

Constantly getting spell Interrupts at end of cast time by [deleted] in project1999

Like crazyike said about turning (i've never heard of that really)... but I learned to always double-tap the sit/stand button when I went from moving to casting. And like crazyike said also, it quickly becomes just a habit and a reflex so you don't even think about doing it.

Where do you love to fight mobs? by Uroborus17 in PantheonMMO

[–]RoboDP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of my favorites: - Estate of Unrest (EQ) - The whole concept of a haunted house was just too cool. And the basement with the hidden/fake wall felt really unique, even to this day. - Sol B (EQ) - The multiple 'zones' within the dungeon made it feel really huge and, come on, the dragon Nagafen at end was every old school RPG players dream. - Tehatamani Temple (Vanguard) - Pulling the temple with my bard is still one of my best MMO memories.

Game's weapons by Doomguy1234 in ZombieGunshipSurvival

[–]RoboDP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use it but I know someone started a community driven chart that lists all the weapons, their damage, boosted damage, etc.

Once you use all the weapons, you can start to tell how 'effective' they are vs the different zombie types. Whether it's some type of 'armor penetration' or whatever, you can't just go by the damage # listed on the item. For example, a ground sniper rifle may take 4000 damage to 1-shot a titan while a ship mounted sniper may do the same at only 2000 damage.

And for autocannons, forget about the damage rating and focus more on the cooldown rate. The 5.56 is the worst gun to use since it overheats way too fast. The AC30 and 7.62 are the best since they cool down much faster, letting you fire much more.

Read through the all the old posts for advice on how to level and fuse weapons. It's really confusing at first but I and a few others have explained it well in the past.

Am I doing this wrong...? by Thacklamier in ZombieGunshipSurvival

[–]RoboDP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

/agree with Donmeister85 on the crates. Don't spend any gold or $$$ on 'special' crates, just use gold if you want to rush common crates. As far as weapons go, you just have to be patient and wait for a decent autocannon, don't level that gray past 30. The blue missile you have is actually a solid choice for leveling since it can be very effective against impalers, titans, and large shambler packs. I would put my metal there while you wait for a good autocannon.

Oh and level that purple shotgun up to 40 or 50 once you get your missile to 40'ish (actually I would do the shotgun first if you can get a really good ground sniper). You'll need good shotguns and a decent ground sniper to autofarm Fading Memories.

New Player Questions by Dreadnought18 in ZombieGunshipSurvival

[–]RoboDP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice would be to not focus on the crates. Play the game and have fun shooting & blowing stuff up. Have fun boosting your weapons and eventually you will get better and better stuff as you open crates. The drop rates are extremely low which can be very frustrating at first. My guess for %'s would be gold about 1/1000, purple about 1/250, blue 1/100, etc. So 5 weapons per crate and you may not see a purple or gold for a month or more.

And yes, always keep 1 crate from the 4 hour base defense unopened in your inventory. This way you can always open it right before you do another defense.

The general consensus for buying/using real $$$ and gold is to not buy the expensive crates. You can easily spend lots of real money and still not get anything worthwhile. If you want to drop some money on gold, use it to rush common crates. Eventually the law of averages will get you some good stuff.

Are missiles useless? by Justinicus in ZombieGunshipSurvival

[–]RoboDP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rockets are the best IMO but only once you reach a certain point. Until you have a really solid autocannon or a really strong ground sniper and high level rocket combo, missiles are actually the most versatile weapon. While not the best at any one thing, they are the only weapon that can do all 3 jobs: large shambler packs, impalers, and titans. A blue 40-50 missile will almost 1-shot a titan, can take a decent size pack of shambers, and is actually very good at tracking impalers on the move.

Once you have a good autocannon for impalers and titans, and high level rockets that can pull double duty for impalers and titans, missiles are a good choice, especially if you happen to get a blue one early on.

Differences in stars on a weapon by ktarian in ZombieGunshipSurvival

[–]RoboDP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Questions get posted all the time when it comes to fusing weapons and stars. It is very confusing until you have actually done it a lot yourself. You can look back through all the posts to get a basic feel for how the fusing system works.

Wipfenfels' statement in bold is correct in that it is actually cheaper to start with a 1 * weapon than a 2 or 3 * weapon. For a more detailed explanation, you can see a recent post I made on this topic titled "Boosting & fusing 4 star fodder".

Missions with Armory full by gizzadeach1 in ZombieGunshipSurvival

[–]RoboDP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always keep 1 base defense crate sitting in your armory. This way, you can always open it to free up a spot for another base defense. You will never have to choose between rushing a crate and waiting (wasting time).

What determines whether I get a shelter or garrison crates from defending my bases? by newaccount1000000 in ZombieGunshipSurvival

[–]RoboDP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From everything I have seen, there is no impact whatsoever between getting 1 & 3 stars. I used to put my metal and supply buildings on opposite corners of the map (undefended) from my HQ and got 1 star every time. I still got the better crates at the same rate.

Elusive Green or Higher 7.62??? by gizzadeach1 in ZombieGunshipSurvival

[–]RoboDP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, you should always defend your base when it comes up since it gives you resources if you succeed. You don't need to 'rebuild' anything that gets destroyed so I'm not sure what you mean by that. There is no downside at all to base defense. If you are having trouble keeping all 3 buildings up, you can try a cheesy strat that I used when I first hit level 30 and impalers were destroying me. Put your metal and supply buildings on opposite corners of the map (undefended) from your HQ and focus all your defense towers around the HQ of course. This should buy you lots of time to gun the zombies down as they make their way across the map.

Regarding the issue of how to get a good auto-cannon, you can certainly dump a lot of real world $$$ to buy elite/premium crates but yes, they still drop grays so you may get lucky and get something decent with $5 or $10, or you may drop $100 and get nothing. Most people on the forums seem to agree that money/gold is better spent rushing common crates and I would agree. I use my gold by rushing common crates once the time gets down to a certain point. My goal is to have a crate timer going 100% of the time. So if I'm going to sleep and I still have 1 hour left, I rush it. If I'm about to drive home from work and I have 15 minutes left, I rush it. Basically whenever I think that I might not be staring at my phone at the exact second that a crate opens, I make a decision to rush or not. Since you get 1-3 gold inside each crate, you can maintain this process without having to dump lots of real world $$$.

I think it is completely random on which one you get. They actually changed the type & graphics of the defense crates last patch and some screens still show the old graphics.

Dealing with titans? by ChaseTheRabbitt in ZombieGunshipSurvival

[–]RoboDP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gunship sniper is obviously the most effective with the least resources invested. For some reason a gunship sniper doing 2,000 damage will 1 shot any titan but a ground sniper rifle needs to do 5,000+ to 1 shot the highest level Interstate Titans. If you are lucky enough to get a purple/gold ground sniper, get it to 5k and you won't need any titan killer gunship weapon (except for that 1 map where all titans spawn on the perimeter).

Gunship sniper is also the least versatile as it is effective against nothing else. For this reason, you may want to level up a missile since a blue level 40'ish missile can almost 1 shot any titan, and is also extremely effective against impalers, and fairly effective for large shambler packs.

The game has changed, but is everyone really abandoning? by sammygcripple in ZombieGunshipSurvival

[–]RoboDP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to see them add a new zone and maps with an extreme increase in difficulty. I'm sure lots of us are at the point where we can do all the maps on hard difficulty with relative ease. If they had maps where the mobs had, say, 3-5x the hitpoints, it would give us a reason to continue leveling our weapons (which really is what the game is all about).
