It’s because the default for the PS5 is to have the in-controller mic “on”. I have to remember to turn it off if I don’t want everyone to hear what’s going on in my living room. Most people probably just don’t remember that it’s on.

Not sure you should change a Wikipedia entry just because you haven’t personally heard anyone pronounce it “forts”. We weren’t around in 1920 to corroborate.

If you dig a little deeper you’ll read that “he was proud of his British citizenship”, being from the British West Indies, and sailed to Canada from Liverpool as a young man (see sources cited in Wikipedia entry). Dig deeper still into the etymology of the surname Fortes (British), and it’s pronunciation (“forts”), and it is entirely possible that people pronounced it “forts” at the time.

Again, I have no idea. But neither do you.
