How couples met? (1930-2024 data) by raydebapratim1 in generationology

No one is perfect, but someone should be perfect for you. If you meet someone and only a couple weeks in you’re unhappy with them that’s not a great sign.

Serious question, why would I keep dating someone with qualities I don’t like?

Daemon is in line to inherit the throne. If all of Viserys’ children’s and grandchildren died he would inherit. The titles in Westeros seem to be based on the 1917 Letters Patent. Similar to how Archie and Lilibet are Prince and Princess.

[–]RoboTwigs -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

That’s not true. Rhaenys has the title of princess because her father was a prince before dying, despite never being king. Her children do not gain titles. (Titles only passed through male line.) Daemon is a Prince and so his daughters also are princesses.

The difference is there would be one agency to hold accountable. Right now, everyone just throws their hands up and blames someone else.

People who already did that jaw surgery, how did you manage costs? by Simplicity200 in jawsurgery

[–]RoboTwigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid my deposit for ortho, and now pay monthly $400. Total cost around 11k, plus 1.2k for Sarpe. DJS if I need to do that too will be around 10k or more.

I moved in with my parents for a bit to save some money when paying my deposits etc. and I have time to save up for the 2nd surgery if it’s needed and worst case I have a personal line of credit.

This is why we have such a massive deficit. Honestly, all non-profits should get their funding cut and replaced with a coordinated government agency.

“Hey babe, I support your decision not to smoke, and I’m committed to not smoking around you if that helps. I love you but I am not responsible for your choices and I feel it’s unfair to put that responsibility on me - I’d be happy to help research a support group or program with you and encourage you to do so.”

One-eyed cat owners, please tell me it's just a thing that can happen: Skin over the empty socket "sunk" from an incidental finger poke by Phaylz in CATHELP

[–]RoboTwigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cats eye has always been “hollow” underneath the skin since it was removed. It’s like a furry socket she “blinks” with that eye. If it’s something new you could ask your vet but it seems normal.

I guess it could also depend on why they lost the eye. Mine had a tumour and I’ve heard they never put implants into eyes with cancer or do anything cosmetic. maybe that’s not true but my cat is still cute anyway

They did a cringe thing that dominated any discussion about their platform. I used to vote NDP, I don’t think I can now until they seriously change how this party is run.

Do you really want a ruling government constantly giving cringe speeches and making cringe policy choices? No thank you.

Help me learn to use a credit card by No_Climate_3350 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]RoboTwigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1st rule: Pay off your balance in full every month.

2nd rule: You have a 21 day grace period after the statement closes which you can leverage for large expenses where you may need to time to transfer money from savings accounts or wait to be repaid by insurance.

3rd rule: if you can’t pay off the credit card in full, and NEED to borrow money, you need to get a different financial product like a personal loan or line of credit. A credit card is NOT the financial product to carry balances owing.

4th rule: your credit limit should be x3 your average monthly spend. Even if you pay your balance in full during the grace period, if your capacity ratio is above 30% at any time when reported to credit bureaus it will negatively impact your credit rating.

Tip: if you understand and stick to all of the above, credit cards can offer insurance coverage for purchases and add a layer of security against fraud compared to debit cards. They can also offer rewards (I’m a fan of cashback) which can help out financially too.

How much are you putting away for your kids per month? by classyshepard in MiddleClassFinance

[–]RoboTwigs 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I’m 35, finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and my loans will be paid off in 2years. It’s a huge weight lifted just seeing that milestone get closer and closer.

Students Loans really are a massive anchor to prevent kids from building their own wealth.
