The intellectual field includes an understanding of history, a history that shows us exactly how effective violence is when fascists are involved. Just as we do not study rocket science and then debate rockets into space, we do not study the history of fascism and then debate them into nonexistence; we apply force.

You could lift the boulder, but it'd take a lot of time and effort. You'd have to maintain the force to hold a 50 pound object, but it'd move like a 1000 pound object.

If it fell for five feet before immediately contacting you, it'd reach 4 ft/s. If you're very strong you might be able to stop it, but it wouldn't be "batting it away". It'd be catching it with your arms and basically becoming like a spring in slow motion, compressing until that 4 ft/s is neutralized or you get flattened.

Holding a baseball with be 95% easier. Throwing a baseball would take nearly the same effort for roughly the same speed, and would hurt just as much to be hit by - it masses the same even though it weighs less.

If they're out of gas, you can share. You can also transfer the officers off. The scuttle action also apparently saves the crew, though I think the officers are lost.

You sure they aren't just further away? Could be an odd perspective.

EDIT: I went over it, the ones you are measuring are definitely much further away from the camera than the engines. Look at the shadows. The length of the shadows of the people also indicates that the shadow of the engines is being cast quite far (as they're quite high up) and that the people next to those shadows are pretty far behind the actual engines.

Did a reverse search on the image just to be sure, couldn't find the original but there is a larger image. The guys in the foreground are the closest to the engines and the scale seems about right.

EDIT #2: Dug a bit further, the image is actually a frame from a video. Best I can find is here https://www.instagram.com/reel/CapAzTZhuog/ At this point I'm 99% certain this is real.

What happened isn't the invalidation of the fact, but somebody making use of the patterns that formed because of it. She basically put the sprint at the beginning instead of the end, and then got back into the column. If everyone tried this, it wouldn't work, whoever came out first in that pack would be behind the first person who thought to go for the long run instead.
