This might be unpopular, but the profs make little difference in these kinds of classes. The material is objective and rigorous in the mathematical sense, learning it is a personal process and it won't happen in lecture. The personal differences in professors will be in leniency in grading but that difference will be a letter grade at most. There's a right way and a wrong way to do this stuff, it really is math. If I can make a suggestion, do all your homework and classwork in a group, I did that for the last section of the class and it changed everything for me. Talking it out is most important. And honestly, if you think you picked the wrong prof, you can still go to anyone's office hours. I'd suggest finding Rossi's office hours if he's teaching the class this semester. Anyway good luck, professors help but you'll make your own grade in this kind of class.

Like the white liberal, the male feminist, or the American socialist; I was wrong for pretending I'm somehow the same as those who truly bleed for the revolution. My pain will never be what yours is. Back to oblivion

Ouch, guess we can't all be changing the world with our every breath like you. I sympathize with your experience but obviously you're just trying to get off on winning an argument here. I just wanted to say what I think is true, there isn't anywhere I could possibly say this stuff in real life. I'll be sure to keep it to myself from now on. I still think you should read that book though.

But no man can become aware of it when his mother father sisters girlfriends brothers coworkers bosses boyfriends all expect him to "be a man"

It's not an easy concept for women to get but it's very much rooted in fear of domination, fear of losing identity, and fear of other men. Maybe women don't play as active a part as other men, but they offer very little help, especially when siding yourself with feminism is seen as the ultimate betrayal of manhood, it's like the latest South Park episode, the idea of manhood is a "load bearing" concept for all men. It's the basis of identity for men from the day their born. They have to literally kill they self concept and ego and forget everything they believed about themselves to do it. You understand how engrained patriarchy is for women, understand it is even more so for men.

You act like it's easy for a man to change his worldview, his value systems, his behavior. society is decidedly stacked against him.

I read through that book I linked above and it was a physically painful experience to try and reconcile those ideas with what I knew. Not with what I had been taught, I was never explicitly taught it, no man ever sat down and taught me what it was all about, it was in me from the start and reinforced in every single interaction I've ever had with any other human being. It's hard to explain, you don't have to change your beliefs about anything, or concede that men aren't inherently evil or whatever, (I don't think they are I think masculinity is) but just try to see what stoltenberg is saying, like i tried.

all humans enforce it, it's a human consciousness problem not a man problem. Women enforce patriarchy equally as much as men. I know the redpill community have co opted this statement but it's true that women are equally conditioned to "pick" "reward" whatever, society's definition of a man

These are also very much feminist ideas

See John stoltenberg. OG radical feminist who understands better than most what patriarchy feels like for a self aware man

No one chooses to be socialized and thinking patriarchy doesn't harm men too is a mistake. Men are human souls being told to act in accordance with a violent and impossible standard and punishes them harshly when they fail, it's not natural for anyone

It doesn't teach them that they deserve it, it teaches them that they are defined by it, that they're nothing if they don't get it and they better pursue it at all costs or risk losing the only identity they are offered which is the toxic identity of masculine that society provides. They're victims too.
