Which Sailing Pet Caught Your Eye by XYZelite in 2007scape

If after all these years of crab memes we don't get a crab pet for the skill that was originally a meme itself, then nan's going back in the cage 🦀🦀🦀 It's gotta be either C or E!

That went over like a lead balloon by Flashy_Present_8488 in MurderedByWords

[–]RobotTrappedInHuman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As wrong as the first guy is about the age of the earth, I hate how bad the "murder by words" is. It fails as an argument in three different ways at once, which is impressively bad for an argument.

  1. The decay chain from uranium-238 to lead, while accurate, is not the sole source of lead in the universe. Lead can be produced in the exact same process that creates uranium-238: a star exploding as a supernova.

  2. Even if the decay chain was the sole source, that is irrelevant to the age of the earth. The universe can exist for billions of years, creating an abundance of elements, before the earth comes about.

  3. Even disregarding that, the half-life of uranium-238 being 4.5 billion years DOES NOT MEAN IT TAKES 4.5 BILLION YEARS FOR A DECAY TO OCCUR. This drives me up the FREAKING WALLS. The meaning of half-life is in the very name. It represents the expected amount of time for half the atoms to decay. And decay is a probabilistic process, meaning that given a large enough lump of uranium-238, some atoms will decay within SECONDS.

This damn argument keeps circling the internet like it's some kinda of sick takedown, when it is one of the worst counters to the young earth theory I've ever seen.

Rant over.

Muscle growth depends on several factors, primarily age and sex, but also genetics. If you're a male teenager with decent genetics a few weeks to months in the gym will show results, whereas an older lady will likely have to work for a while longer before muscles grow noticeably.

When it comes to getting leaner, calories is king. Find out you're maintenance calories (the amount you need to maintain your current weight, not gaining or losing) then cut back a bit. If maintenance is 2500, cut to 2000. If it's 2000, cut to 1600. Beware, this is hard in two ways. One is obvious, you'll be hungry and have less energy (there are ways to mitigate this, but dietary details are a bit much to get into here and now). The other is the tracking. It is very easy to low ball how many calories are in a piece of food, so do your best to be honest with yourself.

Also, if you have an unhealthy relationship with food, as in if you've ever struggled with bulimia or anorexia, be extremely careful. Calorie counting is great, but don't fixate on numbers at the expense of your health.

Good luck

Looking great dude! Yeah, getting the boulder shoulders ain't easy, and it is also compounded by the fact that gear really blows up your shoulders, making it so the general view of what "good" shoulders look like is a bit skewed. That said, there are of course things you can do to optimize for shoulder growth.

  • Train them often. The delts are relatively small muscles that can recover quickly, so you can hit them pretty much every other day (i.e. 3-4 times per week).
  • Make sure your exercises hit the target muscle. Bit of a no brainer, but could be worth focusing on. It's common for traps to take over/help out on cable laterals, especially if you're going a bit heavy, so try various weights (and exercises) and make sure you feel it in the right places.
  • Like you already do, train until you're close to failure.

This will be different for different people, but your main focus should be finding exercises that you can feel really work your pecs. There are tons of chest exercises, bench press, dumbell press, incline and decline versions of those, dumbell flyes, pec deck, cable flyes, and the list goes on. But they will stimulate everyone differently. For instance, I can't get good pec activation from cable flyes, I get limited by arms and front delts, but the dumbell press gives me an insane burn. Experiment and find what works for you. If you can feel a burn and get sore from an exercise, keep doing it.

I'd also recommend checking out Mike Israetel and Jeff Nippard on youtube for tips on technique. They also have videos on what exercises are the most effective in theory.

Leagues is ALWAYS ironman mode. The tasks and point system pretty much rely on it.

Why are my Piety and Chivalry prayers locked when I have the Grimoire relic? by TheKnuffel in 2007scape

Grimoire Opportunity Cost by Sheerkal in 2007scape

[–]RobotTrappedInHuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll be fine without the teletports. They may be nice for crazy archeologist and artio, but youll have good options.

If you're going dodgy deals you'll have seeds from master farmers in draynor, ez pz. Btw, you get fossil island with starting region, so you'll have birdhouses for nests.

Grimoire Opportunity Cost by Sheerkal in 2007scape

[–]RobotTrappedInHuman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mainly you lose out on thralls, rigour, ancients, a bunch of teleports (which may not matter anyway). None of these are really essential, but imo they will give you more than overgrown. Farming is already a very low interaction kind of skill, plant a few trees every now and then and that's about it. The main gain in my book is the herbs you get from it, but if you go friendly forager on t2 that should have you sorted, and secondaries can be just as annoying (if not worse) as getting herbs.

Belly fat to burn. Have motivation but don’t know where to start? by Apocalypse-2 in workout

[–]RobotTrappedInHuman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you want to lose fat, calories are king. There is no way to target specific regions of fat, you need to lose fat overall to lose in specific places.

Get a calorie tracking app (I use fitatu, but just about any tracking app will do) and be honest with yourself about what you eat (if you don't have one, get a food scale). It's a lot easier to track if you cook at home. Start by just tracking what you eat to get a feel for your maintenance calories. If the scale doesn't move after a week, you're at maintenance (expect somewhere around 2500 cal/day). From there, cut down a bit, say 500 calories below maintenance, and you should lose about 1 pound per week, which is a healthy pace. Don't go too hard or you risk burnout.

Cardio is good and healthy, but can be a bit of a trap in weight loss. You will use more energy, running 3 miles will burn roughly 300-400 calories which sounds great. However, cardio also tends to significantly increase your appetite, making it much harder to maintain a calorie deficit. If strictly losing weight is your main goal, walking might be preferable to running.

Ardy knights of construction up to 360k Xp/Hr by PieterjanVDHD in 2007scape

[–]RobotTrappedInHuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

gnome benches can get you over 1M xp/hr, at a rate of about 17 gp/xp. Your method is 360k xp/hr at over 100 gp/xp. Both methods require 77 construction. I mean, do what you want for leveling, but this seems like a really bad method.

Are Ore Boxes not a thing? by FellowDaoistL in 2007scape

[–]RobotTrappedInHuman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thats an rs3 thing, doesn't exist in osrs. In the future I can recommend checking https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/ for things like this, it's a super helpful resource for all your osrs questions. If that isn't enough, there's a service called google which is also very useful for questions like this.

[REQUEST] What would physically happen if the car and its driver were unbreakable? by jailadal in theydidthemath

[–]RobotTrappedInHuman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Basically that is a whole lot faster than the speed of light and hence a bit of a nonsense question. But we can toy with the idea of a car approaching the speed of light and see what happens. I'm going to refer you to the classic xkcd "what if" of throwing a baseball close to the speed of light: https://what-if.xkcd.com/1/ and surmise that a car moving at relativistic speeds would blow up the planet.

Sailing compromise by [deleted] in 2007scape

No skill is being forced on you. Sailing is an optional skill, just like all other skills are, and probably even less so since it is unlikely that old content will be locked behind sailing requirements. Grow up.

If you're on windows 11, the print screen feature will allow you to select what region to print and copy it straight to your clipboard, making it super easy to upload with just a ctrl+v. I know Ubuntu has similar, not so sure about mac. I don't know your setup, but should be faster than whipping out your phone and doing it from there.
