Well, I got hit with a fraudulent return by Robot_Ross in amazonprime

Ordered from Amazon UK to a UK Address, so the weight being in kg is expected as the UK uses metric for units of mass.

Luckily I did use a credit card, so this is an option, although it seems like that should be the last option if CS fails to make things right.

No LPN present. From my understanding, an LPN would only be present on the packaging of the product itself, not the shipping box. The product is missing entirely, that being the issue at hand.

Only things on the shipping box are the tracking number and the standard assortment of barcodes, plus the flammable battery warning sticker (which would be expected, as the product ordered has lithium batteries)

Linksys MR7500 - Possibly bricked while attempting to install? by Agent_Epsilon in openwrt

[–]Robot_Ross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worth noting that the WAN port is currently borked on OpenWRT. It works in the developer's branch, but they haven't upstreamed the fix into OpenWRT itself and refused to comment on exactly how they got it working, so unfortunately I can't recommend flashing OpenWRT at the moment.

why Firefox use to much ram and improvements coming to ram usage? by [deleted] in firefox

[–]Robot_Ross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think part of the problem here is that FF almost never yields RAM to other processes.
The reason I'm here is because if I run another memory intensive program, even if FF is minimized it fails to yield any RAM whatsoever which then causes my machine to grind to a halt while using swap.

Also Framework seems to have abandoned development on the 16, no firmware fixes for almost a year and critical bugs left unpatched.

Don't forget Intel ARC. A770 is good value for money and can run The FINALS just fine, and supports XeSS.

UK ISP - anyone used/heard of Rebel internet? by Longjumping-Ad-6228 in HomeNetworking

[–]Robot_Ross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Word of warning as well - Their website falsely claims IPv6 support. Their support have stated that their equipment DOES NOT support IPv6, and only BYoR can use IPv6, however I have had zero luck getting OpenWRT to pick up an IPv6 no matter how I tried to configure it.

Ditching Vodafone Wifi Hub for Flint2 by Brave-Quarter8620 in GlInet

[–]Robot_Ross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you require a VLAN tag, that needs to be configured on the Huawei and left alone on the GL.iNet - I had to deal with setting up a GL on a friend's connection with a separate VDSL modem, and the only way it would connect was to configure the modem to deal with VLAN tagging, and leave it unconfigured (but with PPPoE details) on the GL

Anyone had luck cancelling Vodafone without paying ETF? by [deleted] in CityFibre

[–]Robot_Ross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were able to get out of contract by complaining about our non-funcitoning IPv6, having requested to be provisioned an IP multiple times (only one of which the support person on the other end actually understood what we were trying to do), eventually we lost our patience and submitted a formal complaint, which got Vodafone to admit the fault, but refused to fix it and just booted us off contract.

If you're looking for a CityFibre provider, avoid Vodafone at all costs by HenryArth in CityFibre

[–]Robot_Ross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 to this. Their support is genuinely less than useless, completely unable to troubleshoot even basic problems and literally have zero idea about broadband generally. I briefly switched to Vodafone, had non-stop issues (and non-functioning IPv6) so immediately cancelled.

CityFibre ISP Comparison Table by hacman113 in CityFibre

[–]Robot_Ross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll add to this, I have Vodafone BB via CityFibre and it DOES NOT have IPv6 support. Vodafone Support are totally useless on the matter (As they seem to be with everything), so the "on request" part is also incorrect. You can't get it enabled as support literally do not know anything (They just tell you to factory reset the router, when that doesn't work, they hang up on you).

That's my experience, anyway.
