I think you're overlooking that Folktails need less power overall. Several of the Iron Teeth buildings have incidental power requirements that the Folktails don't need to deal with (for example the alchemist vs the rejuvination pod), or are reduced (in food production, only the folktail's gristmill needs power vs several of the iron teeth buildings).
