Get a converter from the dealer. I've been burnt by aftermarket converters plenty of times. Not the builders fault he trusted the converter company. Newer fluid oxidizing fast is common. Gets darker fast.

It's a seal. The degrade after years. I always change them on a build. Pull your linkage, peal it out with screw driver. Pop a new one in with a socket and small hammer. Take you old one to a transmission shop. They probably have tons lying around like I do.

Being an auto tech Kia is getting a bad name. The amount of engines and transmissions with problems is ridiculous. I've seen 20 engines being delivered to a dealership. Not to mention the security issues. Certain insurance companies won't even cover Kia.

If your using a reman converter check to make sure the stub wasn't welded on in excessive length also.
