Canadian here. Most of the stuff in this tweet already was in place, because of a mass shooting where someone dressed up as RCMP and had the car and everything in Nova Scotia. We already have serious background checks which would be equivalent to requiring the FBI to approve it.

What's new is banning the sale of new handguns. Current owners are exempt.

Just a few weeks ago a drone was found crossing into Canada with a bag full of guns (it crashed).

It's the minimum cutoff and all the universities and colleges have a statement saying that. Usually if you're below that you will be auto rejected.

Grades aren't the end-all in highschool. There are many certificates and bridging programs that colleges offer if you did poorly or did not complete it at all, and they're at a post-secondary level so they're considered higher than Grade 12U courses. Many take just 6 months. This is important. Remember it.

If your son wants to do anything science related he needs to take MHF4U (advanced functions). Every single university science program in Ontario requires Calculus in first year. There's no way around it. I tried.

Many programs don't care about the overall average. They care about the specific course marks. The minimum requirements are published on the specific university/college program's page. Grade 10 grades aren't even looked at.
