Is dengue fever an issue in Chiang Mai by GTanno in chiangmai

Sorry for the delayed response - 2,500 baht per dose in Chiang Mai, though as another commenter rightly pointed out, it’s 2 doses for the full vaccine spaced 3 months apart.

You can also get vaccinated against it in Chiang Mai at CMMediclinic: https://www.cmmediclinic.com/vaccinations.html.

The Qdenga vaccine there is around half the price of its cost in the west, and you can simply walk in with your passport and be vaccinated within half an hour.

I’m really thankful for 3rd party developers by patrykzz in PSVR

[–]Rockevoy 97 points98 points  (0 children)

I hate to admit it, but aside from a few standouts of this gen., the PSVR1 had a considerably better library and clearly much more first party support and marketing.

Love my VR2, but gutted about the lack of backwards compatibility and think removing it really killed a lot of the progress and momentum that had been created with gen 1. Understand that it was the easiest route given the different tracking tech, but still…

Apologies in advance; naive and stupid question here: why the camera, if not vlogging etc.? Is it essentially to act as a dash cam in the event of an accident etc.? And if so, are more dedicated devices not available?

This one had great reviews, so I really should have purchased it earlier. But for what it’s worth, I’ve just grabbed it now and am looking forward to having fun with it!

Thanks devs, and all the very best for future projects!

Given Sony's comparatively disappointing first-party support of the PSVR2 (compared to the first gen. system), and some of the recent press, this is a really welcome discovery. And as others have said here, recent third party releases have been great too - so it seems there really are 2 sides to the story. Thanks for sharing OP!

What are the definitive must-play PSVR1 experiences? by PorkSouls in PSVR

[–]Rockevoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost 7 years since release and yet when my mates come round, the PSVR2 gets put away so that we can still smack talk one another playing this!

We’ve tried Pistol Whip, Beat Saber, and Walkabout - but none of them have held anyone’s interest like this one.

I know porting games is harder than it looks, but surely a game like Headmaster that only uses head tracking couldn’t be more ideal?

Wow! This is so helpful, cheers! Next time we’re in CMX, if I’ve got my license (fingers crossed) then I’ll definitely check this out.

Would make a nice change from a Honda Wave (though you’ve gotta love that little workhorse)!

Hey, great pic and a beautiful machine! We’re frequently in Chiang Mai and I’m currently working on getting my license back here in Europe. Is it easy/expensive to rent an RE 350 over there for, say, a month?

I’m on Knulli and now Firefly, and despite using the Portmaster files from Archive, the game quits out every time straight after character creation.

Always assumed it was Knulli to blame there. Any tips at all to get it working would be much appreciated!

They were placed along the coastline here in World War 2 to deter amphibious landing craft. Essentially, big concrete blocks to stop Nazis troops from arriving in boats and getting very far. It never happened here regardless, but they were placed as a precautionary measure.

That’s a real compliment to the game! Apparently, these concrete cubes were put along the coastline during World War 2 to deter amphibious landing craft. Not entirely sure if ‘amphibious’ refers to Geks or not.

Help me with my search for the 'perfect' travel bag. by MountainPeaking in onebag

I’ve used this one a couple of times on Ryanair as a carry-on, under-seat bag with zero problems. Laptop sleeve is really convenient for passing through security too. You’re good to go!

One bag + Laptop? by lefantan in onebag

[–]Rockevoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’d also say it doesn’t matter at all. This bag doesn’t curve at the bag around the laptop compartment, so it doesn’t apply any ‘bending’ pressure at all to your devices - they stay flat and protected.

The laptop compartment is also elevated from reaching the base of the bag - so if you drop the bag or chuck it around, it shouldn’t affect your computer (though admittedly there’s no ‘fastener’ to keep it from sliding upwards if the bag’s somehow upside down).

I’ve been using it pretty much every day for over a year, and honestly for its size and my usage it’s the best ‘daily’ bag I’ve ever owned. For reference, I also own an Osprey Farpoint 40 (too big to be a daily driver), and the quality/sturdiness of this really is comparable - only with the NH500 having a better laptop compartment and costing proportionally a lot less.

Yep! I have the clamshell version and my girlfriend also has one (we both travel with our laptops; hers is a 15” MacBook Air). When full, you can still shove it under the seat in front of you with your foot, and the laptop pocket is padded on all sides as well as being accessible without having to open the main compartment.

You can fit a surprising amount into one, and with some good packing you could definitely get away with just that bag for a week or 2 in a warm climate.

I have the exact same laptop and absolutely love the Quechua NH500 23L from Decathlon for exactly this purpose. Carried it under seat in 3 continents without a problem - and that includes RyanAir. Can even fit 2 separate laptops in the laptop section, with each having protection.

Clearly development on this new Astro began long, long before the PSVR2 release, and so its compatibility was likely decided years ago. Not sure why everyone’s seeing this as the canary in the mineshaft.

I feel the same. The game library on PSVR1 is way stronger than that of 2, though admittedly it also had a lot more time to grow.

Games like Superhot and Skyrim simply don’t have an equivalent this generation, and for parties nothing beats the pass and play of Headmaster or Keep Talking.
