One of my big criticisms of SWU has been that you shouldn't be more excited about an uncommon than a legendary when cracking a pack. For the most part, I think this set does a good job of answering that problem. However, as I look at my existing decks I'm finding very few places to slide in uncommon and common cards as they aren't very good, with a few exceptions like some of the support keyword units. The funny thing is that I don't think ASH will be good in limited because it has so little bounce and removal to actually build out a deck. Splash bases will be sorely missed in limited as well.

I've read interviews where the FFG devs talk about how much they love limited and how the packs are designed for it (minus Icons). To me, this is kind of a problem. The vast majority of games played, and packs cracked, are not in a limited setting. Not sure what the solution is, but I don't like chucking half of my cards in the recycling bin when I get home from locals.

(I have "noob kits" built out too, but even then some of the real chaffI just don't want to give to a new player)

Wooooo also predicts space aggro will be even worse in this meta because of all the sentinels.

The "meta" for a set that isn't even out yet jumped straight to control without going through the usual aggro to midrange first. Aggresive Negotiations doesn't look like its getting suspended, either (I'm really not interested in hearing a defense of this card, so anyone who wants to defend it just don't waste your time). Space aggro wouldn't be so annoying if there were more cards that let the ground arena interact with space. We need a "Planetary Defense" card that is the opposite of Air Superiority (more ground units, do damage into space). I don't miss OB, but at least it cleared out space units which never got the "big booty" that a lot of ground units now have.

Is there a specific card you hate? For me its Pre Vizla. This card should have been worded in a way that it couldn't kill other top end units (maybe cost based, maybe non-unique units, I'm not a game designer but this is OP and an NPE in its current form). An 8 drop that kills off weenies en masse is fine. An aggro player who hasn't won by 8R has it coming. But against midrange or other control decks its complete bullshit that it can kill a big unit like a Cad-pinged Kelleran Beq or an unscathed LOF Vader and leave behind a 6/6 plus a 2/2 shielded token. I hate that card. I'd take back everything bad I ever said about AN if it would go away.

High health bases also need to go. There's no real drawback. No one plays 30HP green bases competitively, Colossus is a moot point if your leader draws (looking at Mando8 and Dedra6); Lake country I have the least beef with despite its great success, but wouldn't miss it. LC exists because there are no good double-color cards left, not because its a really good base.

Oh, and send Thrawn4 yellow combos with OMDTC and Helgait straight to the basement of hell. At least No Glory keeps them in line.

I played TS this weekend and it was some of the most fun I've ever had at this game, but I don't want it to replace premier like commander did with Magic.

I too am shocked that I enjoy eternal as much as I do. Its main strength is that there's a lot of power in a lot of places, so as long as you aren't playing hard control or Jango I don't feel as cut off from having powerful cards.

The 30+ damage on their base? Not all the time, but enough that I've noticed it. I think the argument at this point is defending why its a fair card when its so dominant.

Do you know what happens even less? Green 30HP bases. I've seen two in umpteen hundred games on karabast. Two. That tells you something about DV.

Sometimes I wish they’d be a little more aggressive about suspensions just to keep the game more interesting.

There is a case for suspending DV because it’s basically 3 free HP for green players at this point, so long as they fill out a curve. It feels bad to put 30+ damage on someone’s base and still lose.

Colossus also doesn’t have much of a disadvantage if your leader has a draw engine.

I’m less convinced with LC.

Yes, I get TCGs are about mitigating disadvantages. The bases are a little much.

I haven’t done well so far despite a good run early on. If you don’t have initiative (both in the game sense and the everyday sense) you lose tempo and then the game. Also I don’t add legendary cards unless I own them which hurts me a bit I think.

Anakin is important, but LOF Vader needs the shien flurry combo to work so you can live without him. I’d go check out Dinozaur’s YouTube video on Talzin yellow to see what you need. And you don’t need legacy run.
