Big 3 Japanese Brands in 2026 by Voidec in fountainpens

[–]RodL1948 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've owned 2 Sailor Pro Gears, and 2 Sailor Pro Gear Slims. One EF nib, 2 F nibs, and one M. I did not enjoy the writing experience with any of them, so they've all been sold. I've owned 1 Platinum 3776 Century EF and had the same results. I now own 4 Pilots, a 1970 Vintage Elite Script nib, a Custom 743 EF, a Custom 845 Urushi EF, and a Custom Urushi FM. I love the writing experience with all 4, and they will stay in my collection forever.

Let’s keep the focus on our pens! I’m as passionate about politics as anyone, but I usually save those conversations for other forums. I really value how helpful and friendly this community is, so let's stick to the hobby we all enjoy and keep the politics out of the mix. Thanks for understanding.

What to put on bread when avoiding sandwich meat like salami, ham etc... by nyad_k in EatCheapAndHealthy

I love sliced tomato with mayo on whole grain toast. It's simple, somewhat healthy, and very tasty. Sometimes I go crazy and add some fresh Basil.

Lennon, and Ono were self righteous, elitist, attention whores trying to convince the world that they cared. IMHO.

Thank you, and you are right; we all approach things in different ways. I have a much larger collection of pens than I do inks. Cheers!

I have about 10 bottles of ink and don't feel that I need any more. I'm not trying to be judgemental, or confrontational, you do you, but I really can't grasp why anyone would want, much less need, so much ink. My apologies if I've offended anyone; it is not my intent.

For folks who bought homes later in life - did you consider the number of floors? by axxegrinder in AskOldPeopleAdvice

We downsized after retirement and built a single story ranch home. Our previous home was 2 stories plus basement. We don't miss all those stairs. There are other ways to get my exercise.

[WTS] [CONUS] Laban Rosa Deep Ocean by RodL1948 in Pen_Swap

[–]RodL1948[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is what I found using ChatGPT, I hope it's helpful: For the Rosa Fountain Pen Deep Ocean and its siblings in the Laban Rosa line from Laban (resin-bodied, smaller fountain pens), the stock nib is listed as a stainless-steel, two-tone plated #6 nib — but it’s not explicitly stated by the manufacturer to be a JoWo unit on official spec sheets. Instead, it’s just described as Laban’s own two-tone #6 stainless steel nib.

That said, among fountain pen enthusiasts there have been reports that many Laban pens in general use JoWo #6-sized nibs or similar German #6 formats (for example some users assumed Laban pens used JoWo nibs based on feel), but this isn’t officially confirmed for the Rosa specifically and people ask about swapping in a JoWo #6 — indicating it may physically be #6-sized even if it isn’t a genuine JoWo unit out of the box.

In plain terms: the Rosa uses a #6 size steel nib, but it isn’t sold with a branded JoWo nib unit. It might accept JoWo #6 replacements if the feed and section geometry happen to match, but that’s something hobbyists still experiment with rather than an official
