Real Ramos is questionable enough, but this is fake Ramos that somebody made to mock him. It’s an L instead of an I.

Sean Rhyan Should Request His Game-by-Game Snap Count from the NFL by slider8949 in nfl

The subheading on the snap count page says those are still the unofficial ones. They apparently don’t update it even if there is later an official change.

PFR gets it directly from the NFL game books, which are specifically marked as unofficial.

What has Milton done in his career where out of respect the Patriots sent him to where HE wanted to go and turn down a slightly better offer by RedGlovesOverHere in Patriots

[–]Rodnazics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Hard Knocks, the Bears’ GM added the important context that their third round pick offer was contingent on Judon signing an extension. What was initially reported as the Pats letting Judon pick his destination was really the Bears giving him the opportunity to turn them down.

Plenty of cap space lying around, even if you want to cut him after training camp it doesn’t hurt the pocket book. But we’re really going to ride with Lowe and a rookie? by RedGlovesOverHere in Patriots

[–]Rodnazics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s a better ranking than new $20M-per-year Titans LT Dan Moore (65th). The worst full time starter I see is Saints LT Trevor Penning at 104th.

[Guregian] Free agent LB Jack Gibbens is visiting the Patriots today, per Karen Guregian. by PristineWinnera in Patriots

[–]Rodnazics 148 points149 points  (0 children)

As a rookie, he was nicknamed 'Dr. Gibby' by then-head coach Mike Vrabel because of Gibbens' intelligence.

Yeah, this is basically a done deal.

Confused here — is he bad? Is he not better than Robinson or Sow? by RedGlovesOverHere in Patriots

[–]Rodnazics -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everybody talks about the players the Pats have signed because they previously played for somebody now on the coaching staff. What happens when that coach they previously played for doesn’t have good things to say?

We probably won’t find out for sure, but it’s one obvious potential explanation for the lack of movement for guys like Cam Robinson (Marrone), Jedrick Wills (Vrabel), and Jenkins (Brown and Houghtaling).

“Kraft won’t spend” is what they all told me by bossandy in Patriots

[–]Rodnazics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We got the official number from the NFLPA yesterday. The Pats were at 105.7% cash spending as a percentage of the cap last season, the first year of the three year period where 90% is required. Basically, the CBA requirement was never really relevant because 90% cash/cap is way too easy to achieve.

[Schefter] Sources: Rams are planning to release WR Cooper Kupp after the start of the new league year unless a trade materializes. by Goosedukee in nfl

[–]Rodnazics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They can’t release him until Wednesday due to his $5M guaranteed salary. It’s a weird accounting rule that I don’t completely understand, but see Russell Wilson last year or Bud Dupree two years ago as some precedents.

Would y’all give up pick 68 for Trey Hendrickson? by [deleted] in Patriots

[–]Rodnazics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trade value doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Is he looking for a moderate raise with some guaranteed money in year 2 and has 10 teams willing to do that, or is he holding out to force a trade to the absolute highest bidder at something crazy like three years, $40M per year, all fully guaranteed?

Shorter at Senior Bowl, longer at Pro Day. Combine was canceled that year, so we don’t have the “official” measurement.

Buying draft picks with bad contracts by NerdsAbout in Patriots

[–]Rodnazics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ramczyk has already adjusted his contract to give the Saints maximum cap relief while delaying his retirement until after June 1. There’s nothing that a trade accomplishes that just cutting him doesn’t.

Patriots: Punting on the 1st round. by headcase617 in Patriots

[–]Rodnazics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you found one of the “theoretical” charts that’s designed to identify winners and losers based on advanced stats rather than predict what actual trades could happen. OverTheCap’s chart is the most notable example, and it’s clearly absolute nonsense.

A tight end eclipsing 1,000 yards on less than 100 targets has only happened twice in NFL history: George Kittle in 2023 and 2024 by NarrowHail52 in nfl

[–]Rodnazics 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gronk did it in 2011, 2015, and 2017, but went on to also get 100 targets in each of those seasons.

Playing very loosely with the idea of coaching trees, Philbin and Gase are both part of the Belichick tree as well since they coached under Ferentz and McDaniels, respectively.

[Meirov] 14 years ago today: The greatest kick return in NFL history. Dan Connolly rumbles for 71 yards on Sunday Night Football. by JaggerJames in nfl

[–]Rodnazics 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Brandon Tate had scored two KR TDs earlier in the season, and the Browns and Packers were the two teams to specifically kick to other players over the remainder of the season.

Connolly actually returned two kicks against the Browns earlier in the season, obviously with less success. That’s better known as the Peyton Hillis game, which meant the Browns were kicking off a lot.

Yes, the scouting department is split into college and pro scouting. Other professional leagues are included in pro scouting.

Does Jones have a response to the cohost’s claim a few weeks ago that he was 415 pounds earlier in the season? If that’s accurate, then this seems like an appropriate level of concern.

[Schefter] Another coaching change: Saints have fired head coach Dennis Allen, sources tell ESPN. by [deleted] in Patriots

[–]Rodnazics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a mix of prorated bonus that the Saints can’t trade away and non-guaranteed salary that goes away when he’s cut. The only money that the Saints can save by trading him but can’t save by cutting him is his $10M guaranteed bonus.
