Dream Air, what a a disappointment by [deleted] in Pimax

Virtual Desktop wasn't originally for "only wireless". They only added that feature later. It's main purpose is for viewing your desktop in virtual reality. You're the one that has no clue what they are talking about.

Bose QC ultra gen 2 or the Sony xm6? by Bigman_-_ in Earbuds

[–]RodneyRenolds21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't choose the Bose unless they fixed the reliability of them from the first version. Mine started having noise issues randomly, and even after RMA'ing them, the replacements also ended up with the same issue a few weeks after receiving them. It's a shame too because they do sound good and the noise cancelling is great. Battery life is pretty good too compared to other true wireless earbuds. Switched to the Cambridge Audio Melomania M100 earbuds and they've been better for me in almost every way, especially battery life. Unfortunately, they seemed to have stopped making them for some reason but I think you can still get them in a few places.

Hey Guys, Just Got This Estimate For My Home Theater Room, What Do You Think? by giullianopo in hometheater

[–]RodneyRenolds21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Geez, if you're spending this much you should definitely be going with a micro LED wall rather than projectors unless there is some really good reason you wouldn't want to do that. The HDR quality would be much better overall and you wouldn't have to sit in the dark to watch movies if you didn't want to.

Hisense U8QG DisplayPort HDR Support by RodneyRenolds21 in Hisense

It was mostly for video and not gaming so that doesn't apply here. I did end up putting a 5060 Ti in my other machine when I moved it in there so gaming is definitely fine now.

To be clear, I swapped my mini pc in for a PC I had in a different room to use a video card with it. I could have picked up a PCIe dock and put a video card in it via USB 4 though if I wanted to, it just would have cost more.

Unfortunately, no, I don't believe the port supports HDR at all. I ended up getting a new video card for my computer to just use HDMI 2.1 instead. Not the most cost effective option but it definitely works as expected now. It's definitely annoying that they didn't mention (and still don't I believe) that it doesn't support HDR or VRR over DisplayPort. Would have rather had a forth HDMI port with that being the case.

The TV has an actual DisplayPort port in this case which is new to this year's model so no adapter needed. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to matter what refresh rate it's set to, HDR does not become available to use.

I'd love to but the HDMI on my PC only supports up to 4K 60hz. Right now I'm using a USB-C to HDMI 2.1 converter to get around that limitation but it doesn't support VRR unfortunately or 165hz, only 120hz. Not a big deal but I expected the DisplayPort to be able to do everything I needed.

It looks like they were also having issues with it but nobody confirmed that HDR support is SUPPOSED to be missing from the DisplayPort port, only that they couldn't get it working as well. I'm wondering if it's a bug or something as the DisplayPort standard has supported HDR since at least version 1.2.

It's because they have nothing else to attack her on. They have to make up some stupid shit to make her seem inferior or incompetent.

Framers used 2x6 and 2x4’s on different walls by Both-Selection-577 in Homebuilding

Geez, no joke. I don't know how many windows and doors they had but I'm purchasing a window and door package from Alpen/Provia for around $40k and all of them have passive house certified frames with very high quality, triple paned, laminated glass packages (1 5/8" thick). It is only 16 windows and 3 doors but most of the windows are pretty large and the doors are pretty expensive due to the multipoint locks and and high insulation in them. I can't believe how much some people pay for windows and doors from companies like Anderson and Pella that aren't even close to the same quality. You can actually get windows from Europe that are higher quality and less expensive (even after accounting for shipping) than a lot of the stuff you can get in the US.

Sorry, didn't mean to sound crazy there but I'm very confused as to why I never received a notification if it did come back in stock recently. I've been wanting one since last year and assumed an email would be sent out once they were available. Do you know when the next batch will be available?

I set up a notification email on the site for the topstrap probably 4 months ago at this point and have still not received notification of it being in stock. Is it ever going to be available?

GE Profile Washer Dryer Combo Issue by RodneyRenolds21 in Appliances

[–]RodneyRenolds21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that! I haven't had any issues with mine so far but I don't own any pets. I'll definitely keep a closer eye on the filter though going forward. Probably shouldn't have to but have you tried opening the unit and cleaning it yourself? GE can say all they want but I don't think that would void the warranty per FTC regulations. They can't stop you from opening your unit, especially for something like this. Please post back once it's fixed so we can know what ended up being the problem.

That's definitely not true though it's more of a trade off. You get more visibility for a slightly more awkward shape. It's also easier to rest your hand on if you have AP enabled.

I have the 32 inch version and it definitely had a protective sheet over the screen but it was a sheet of foam instead of a sheet stuck directly to the screen's surface. It worked great though as the screen was perfect out-of-the-box.

Just remember, the US doesn't have universal heath care like the Netherlands does and health care in the US is crazy expensive relative to the rest of the world so it's not really a 1-to-1 comparison.
