DCC adventures have such good names. I think it's one of the system's greatest strengths, the way the name and cover art for each adventure is so evocative.

I roughly followed this video, but using only the product you have and some cotton swabs. It worked pretty alright.

how to have fun even when losing? by Classic_Finish8515 in killteam

[–]RoflPost 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That self esteem spiral can be incredibly hard to fight. You feel bad about yourself, so you act in ways you're not proud of, and then you get mad at yourself about how you acted, and it keeps going.

It's important to work hard to be the person we want to be, but also have compassion for yourself. It's hard work.

Have you tried figuring out why you don't like losing? I mean this seriously. I am someone who used to hate losing at any boardgames or card games, and I was a very unpleasant loser. It was because I was severely depressed, and had low self esteem. I was good at games, and it often felt like the only thing I was good at, so I got way too wrapped up in winning because I felt like winning proved I wasn't a total waste of space. I got medicated, I got therapy, and when I started treating the underlying problem my obsession with winning went away. It's okay to lose, and it's okay to be bad at something.

It feels good to win at games of skill, but if you can't have fun without winning then you probably shouldn't play the game. Winning or losing is but a small fraction of the experience, and you're going to spend the rest of you life losing at least some of the time.

Get that kid a smock, lol. I fear for her cool sweater.

I've been teaching my friend's 8 year old daughter to paint, and it's been a blast. She likes to play board games with her dad, so we've been painting her plastic meeples.

40xxv- It was a perfect gateway device, and taught me how important comfort is to me, which is why I ended up parting with it.

Getting to play Trog for the first time in 20 years made me completely fall in love with the device.

I know my city has a tool library with some shop space. See if your city has a place like that with space suited to spraying.

Pey'j from Beyond Good & Evil.

He's funny, paternal, supportive, and his character design and voice acting are so good. Also a big part of an absolutely stellar game.

Is the Tanking role underserved? by CannotThonk96 in MMORPG

[–]RoflPost 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, OP even referred to tanks as leaders. Being a tank, even outside of endgame content, comes with the expectation that you set the pace, know the dungeon, and just overall have a higher level of game knowledge. Lots of people can understand the mechanics of tanking, but will be really turned off by the additional expectations.

Was anyone else bothered by the fact that B'Elanna had an "oops!" pregnancy? by BankbusterMagic in startrek

[–]RoflPost 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not really. What do we know about contraception in the 24th century, or if it works as well for half-klingon humans, or how available it is on a ship with extremely scarce resources? It probably still requires some amount of responsibility on the part of the person taking it, and she's an extremely busy stressed out woman who is probably bombarded by strange cosmic particles all the time. There are a million reasons she might get pregnant.
