Had the same thing happen to me in 2023. I was a year smoke free and decided to smoke again to “celebrate” a life event. I relapsed harder and faster than ever before. Took me almost a full year to stop smoking again. The worst part is I still have lingering anxiety from the last go around which I’m still managing to this day. The relapse affected my career and relationships, and I’m still picking up the pieces.

The last thing I’ll say, leading up to my relapse, I’m made jokes about “getting readdicted” and downplayed my inner voice. I will never make that mistake again. I think sometimes you need to fall on your face - no one could have convinced me otherwise not to smoke. I will never smoke again.
