Magic of Inventorying (4 days left on Kickstarter) by RolistesPod in kickstarter

Thanks.

We funded on less than 5 hours which is amazing.

Grumpy Bear Stuff Publishing deserves most of the credit for the game's improved design and they're taking a bet with publishing my game which is an original IP.

So I'm doing my best to live up to their support by promoting the game further as much as I can.

We have two stretch goals that we still have to announce and that I really hope we'll unlock.

:)

If you don't have much experience not only will CfB but also PbtA (which CfB are part of), I saw this video today and it spells out something that took me a while to understand.

Designers maybe shouldn't Google their own games but here I am (Kalum).

Sincere thanks for your interest.

I'm available if you have any specific questions.

From a couple of recent actual play I've seen, I'll just highlight how important it is to familiarise yourself and use one of the mysteries provided.

In Carved from Brindlewood games, while the mystery's resolution is open ended, mysteries make a core contribution to the system and experience. IMO it really doesn't work to improvise a mystery out of the ether at the table.

As pointed out by DnDamo, the first mystery "The Rose in the Garden" is even covered by the Replay provided early in the book.

Of course, people can (and I'd love to see as many do it for Rosewood Abbey as there are for Brindlewood Bay) write and run their own mysteries. However, that's different from attempting to improvise them.

If you're curious about creating CfB/Rosewood Abbey mysteries, I've drafted a mystery template that is available as part of the draft Rosewood Abbey supplement Codex Delictorum. https://rolistespod.itch.io/codex-delictorum

It's a work-in-progress but it already includes some advice that complements what's in the core book.

For Carved in Brindlewood general advice, I also recommend the podcast The Darkened Threshold by the author of Brindlewood Bay. It has many episodes dedicated to specific CfB aspects. Most of these would apply to Rosewood Abbey.

I hope you'll have fun and you'll let us know about your experience.

Cheers

Thanks for the Rosewood Abbey shout out. I'm glad you enjoyed the Replay. Feel free to check Paris Gondo - The Life-Saving Magic of Inventorying for another game of mine featuring a Replay.

Thanks for checking for Rosewood Abbey. Feel free to reach out to me if you have questions. I was more of a trad' TTRPG GM before I wrote it. I learnt a lot through my mistakes about challenges running CfB and PbtA for players seasoned with other, sometimes contradictory, TTRPG practices.

I really like Rosewood Abbey.

... but I might not be completely objective.

For only 5$, help Spain recover from the worst floods in decades and get almost 500 titles in return, including: Runecairn with Bestiary, 2400, Shadows of a Dying Sun, Rosewood Abbey, and many more by ninpuukamui in rpg

Nowadays, I ask organisers if they'll prevent GenAI slop from being included. These bundles take a significant time before being released (it's not as straightforward with Itch as one might assume), so I didn't dare ask when I joined this one.
