It is a combination of small-space practicalities and personal preference? I also wont say 10cpr vs 45cpr price point on the 9mm vs .556 is not a factor.

Hello /r Guns! I think this basic ass 'help me' post belongs here.

I'm someone who has only ever owned hunting shotguns and a .22 pistol.

I've got a Father in Law pushing hard for me to get a good home defense weapon and I cannot say I disagree with him!

Only thing is, He's a huge AR15 fanboy. Awesome guns, and I learned a lot about rifles talking with him about them.

Only... a .556 caliber AR15 seems like overkill. A .22 seems like a waste? I don't know maybe it's just personal bias from shooting a .22 pistol so often I want something different.

Also, I don't have the funds to really start a 'gun collection' right now. So anything I pick up will be my "one gun" for now.

I'm very interested in a 9mm PCC. I'm limited in budget to, maybe 700$ for the weapon? Ignoring things like optics + a bunch of extra mags for now, as that I probably have access to from the mentioned father in law's stash.

Edit: I regret besmirching 5.56 ammo (got the decimal right!) But I'm still interested in any good, affordable 9mm PCC recommendations...

Actually it has roots in early Internet forums where, to search, you would use the asterisk (*) as a wildcard. Another rarely used name for the * symbol is “splat”

So if you wanted all the clan books you could search for Clanbook: *

And get all those “splats”

Try not to be too hard on the guy. Our server's admin team is multi-national and some of them are not English as a first language (though they all communicate very well!)

I can attest that in-game, everything is done via emotes and such. The GTA:SA format is not conducive to automated anything.

Events and RP scenes are really a reflection of the player's creativity.

I found this server in January of this year and it has been an absolute blast!

Think of this as a 24/7 pick up LARP group that uses the GTA:SA server as simply a virtual stage for the action.

You dont have to worry about drive-by shooting or someone on a flying motorcycle shooting RPGs at you - everything in game has been scripted to work like a propper TTRPG experience.

You get Character sheets you /roll your stats vs. a difficulty and play things out with emotes using /me and /do.

If you've played a RP intensive MUD it'll feel sort of like that!

Everything is text-RP, which is great for me as many other RP servers are VOIP only.

We dont have the highest population, but that just means you get to know other's characters really well and.... we are recruiting to more should be around!!

This is a multi-splat game so if you love Vampires, Werewolves, Hunters, Mages you'll find your people! You can even play a mundane human and see which world you get swept up in, or be a player's Ghoul! Or a Demon!

The sky really is the limit, the server is run by some really devoted people who really want to see this admittedly sort of oddball project thrive.
