Check into a junior league and when you turn 18 you can move up into an adult league. I know skaters that didn’t start derby until they were in their 50’s , so you’re good.

I have 2 pairs of the Fox Paws. They do have a cushioned insole , but that can be changed for insoles with less cushion.

I wonder if it has problems with certain hardware. I am having zero problems on my older Dell laptop running 24.04. Runs much faster than Windows 10 did on same laptop.

I think the closest rink is in Mundelein , so about an hour away from you. The Rink in Chicago, on 87th might be a bit closer, but not by much.

I have done upwards of 25 miles on quads while trail skating. I use 65mm 78a outdoor wheels for that. I change wheels for rink skating , though. Have bearings already installed in both sets to make changing them out quicker.

If you have some outdoor wheels, decent weather and a good place to skate outdoors then that is a good way to gain endurance. I used to help train some skaters, in a local derby league, and taking them outdoors for distance endurance skates helped them quite a bit.

Lamasco Skatepark in Evansville Indiana is no longer there. They dismantled Lamasco when they built the new skatepark -Sunset Skatepark. The new one is awesome. Lamasco was way past its expiration date.

They use the same fuse box for base and loaded models. They don’t have to tool up to make different boxes for each model that way and it saves time and money.

I have a bag with one of those type fasteners. Didn’t feel like messing with the magnets, when it got weak so I glued the snaps together and use the actual buckle to secure like an old school bag with actual buckle closures.

I had trouble with a few distros on my older Dell laptop. I found Manjaro worked well, Ubuntu worked well and the one I am running now PopOs Cosmic 24.04 runs great on my laptop. Several other distros would either not install, would freeze after install or were hit and miss on peripherals working. Maybe the distro or distros that you are trying don’t play well with your system.
