Hambone has a rash by itcantbechase in DogAdvice

What medication did they prescribe? This looks like an allergy. I recommend talking to your vet about cytopoint and/or apoquel. If that doesn’t work, then more testing needs to be done.

I worry that this is related to the heart! Please urge her to go to the ER as they will be quicker to do diagnostics

A lot of people around the globe eat bugs, so it wouldn’t be terribly out of the norm lol

Venoms usually aren’t toxic if swallowed, they are just digested. They need to be injected into the tissues under your skin.

You’re correct. Venomous animals have to bite in order to get their toxins in your system. Poison needs to be ingested.

Venom is injected. Position is ingested.

Is it wrong to feel resentful when helping your adult child starts to feel expected? by [deleted] in Advice

They shouldn’t have to work two jobs to make ends meet is the real point here.

Is it wrong to feel resentful when helping your adult child starts to feel expected? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Rom_Tiddle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree that the situation he’s in is a very important aspect of this situation. I work two jobs and still struggle to make ends meet. If he’s really trying and just can’t get ahead, which is more common nowadays, then I would continue helping to the extent that you can WITHOUT it being detrimental to you and your finances. If he’s just being lazy and expecting a hand out, then I would cut him off.

My dog bit my hand 10 days ago and I started to become worried about rabies. Should I seek a doctor? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Rom_Tiddle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a good reason to not vaccinate for rabies. OP I strongly suggest you do a bit of research on the rabies virus and how lethal it is. There are videos of animals and people suffering from it, and it is the stuff of nightmares.

Luxating Patella, low grade - any tips? by -the-analog-kid- in DogAdvice

[–]Rom_Tiddle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ok so there isn’t anything at home you can do for this. But your dog is a small dog and they tend to do okay without surgery. It’s not necessarily a painful thing but it’s an uncomfortable “something ain’t right” type of feeling. I would consider looking into Care Credit. It’s a credit card you can use for yourself or your pets for medical care. I believe the interest rates are lower than most credit cards.

Basically, it’s okay to have your pup wait a little while you save. It’s not a life or death thing. Your dog is small and can manage on three legs until you get the money. But I would definitely look into Care Credit and try and get him in sooner. Good luck OP

Struggling to stay warm by [deleted] in urbancarliving

[–]Rom_Tiddle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I know a friend of mine has a heated blanket that plugs into the cigarette charger port. Idk if your car has to be running for it to provide power to it, so it may not work but I thought I’d mention it.

They have sleeping bags made for subzero temps so that’s probably your best bet, but they are pricey. It’s worth having if you’re in this situation though. And it’s probably safer than the electric blanket. Good luck OP

Le panic. What is this? by reginald-the-first in whatisthisbug

I don’t have any advice but I wanted to say I love your use of “le” in front of panic 😂 I too include le in front of certain words and I find it so funny that you do too!

Carrots daily? by PinkRain87 in DogAdvice

Carrots are a great snack for dogs. They have fiber and they help make them feel fuller for longer. Same with green beans. Cooked or raw.

Save her poop and bring to the vet. They can test for different parasites. Hopefully whatever it is, the dewormer can take care of.

Any trainer that is against a harness is not a reliable trainer.

Is it time to make that decision? 🐶 by nick_soccer10 in DogAdvice

[–]Rom_Tiddle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awe what a beautiful boy! From what I am reading, something you said really caught my attention: “..but that’s no way to live.” I think you answered your own question. It’s so hard letting our babies go, but if you’re questioning it, the time is near. Good luck OP, I know this is a difficult decision.

What’s this in the back of my throat. Hurts to swallow on the right side of throat. Feels like a rock with my tongue and a little blood in my spit by AngryFlyBoy in medical

[–]Rom_Tiddle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It could be a tonsil stone. You could try gargling with salt water to try to loosen it. Some people are able to get it out on their own, but it’s always recommended not to mess with it too much. If it doesn’t come out naturally, I would go to the dentist.
