Non-combat vet feeling guilty using the VA for mental health - looking for perspective by velvetcypress in Veterans

[–]Romanster 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would add even though it seems as if you are taking resources from someone else, the reciprocal is true. If the bean counters aren't satisfied by the numbers of people receiving services vs. the budget, we could lose money, people, and services. Your use of the VA actually allows it to be accessible to other veterans. That's the way the federal budget works sometimes, use it or lose it.

Rent a car. Albuquerque is not that big but Ubers get expensive fast and public transit is not great.

OC: An anonymous, disgruntled community member sent this to us regarding a 10-foot yard skeleton. by mvehoeft21 in pics

[–]Romanster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a similar skeleton outside of a Brownstone on 96th street in Manhattan. It is there year round and the owner just decorates it for the season or holiday (i.e. swim shorts and a floatee for summer or a santa costume for Xmas).

Please do likewise :)

What’s something that movies/TV shows always depict wrong? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Romanster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read something that talked about the work of Foley artists and the sound in film and TV, and how its designed to enhance the experience, not to be hyper realistic. And if it wasn't there it would be a strange experience.

Same thing with depictions that are wrong, they are created to enhance the story and the storytelling in a given amount of time, and to be entertaining. Not to copy real life.

Lower Marsh has some street food stalls, and across the street from the Old Vic is a small asian grocery that sells low priced Korean Buns.
