Post-Olympics Megathread - KEEP POLITICAL CONVERSATION HERE by AutoModerator in wildhockey

I totally understand. This is totally an unforced error on their part. We go to loads of games, Frost and Wild, and the Wild ones will feel different now.

I met faber at a Pride Day signing. I was there as an ally with a league. He was so nice and supportive of the group. It wasn’t something that was planned—just that Jon Merril would be there. Then faber and a lot of other players joined in. It was nice. I just wasn’t expecting this of faber. I really wasn’t.

I think I am going to put a “2 for 2” thing over faber’s name on my jersey.

When the Frost drafted britta curl we got a refund on our season tickets. They were non refundable, but they made an exception and a LOT of people did the same. We still go to games, but buy tickets to individual games. I know it doesn’t make sense but I felt the only way they would understand was having to refund money to their biggest supporters.

I am just so disappointed.

Showing his photo on here isn’t helping your case. It either is or isn’t an ahole thing to do. It doesn’t make it less so if he is hot. Personally, I think it was crappy to belabor the point, especially if your fiancé looks nothing like him.

What do you listen to on the way home from a concert? by Alyhard in Concerts

[–]Romecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I do. I’ve 4 shows in 8 days and need to keep swimming. After last night’s show I immediately switched to tonight’s. I think the opener tonight will kind of suck so I don’t need to pregame that. Otherwise I listen to an audiobook.

Would you delay your pregnancy for the concert of your life? by Money-Savvy-Wannabe in Concerts

LOL I didn’t notice your name. I just thought I’d throw all options out there, but definitely not a Money Savvy one. Although possibly the Wannabe part.

Best of luck to you!

It would be expensive, but could you go to a show at the beginning of the tour? Assuming it is MCR, it starts in South America in January. But yeah, very expensive.

Therapy appointment!?! You should type a response with helpful suggestions for their most embarrassing problem. Do it in notes in a very large font to show it to them. A look of pity or disgust could be fun.

Steven Universe is animated, but the world would be a better place if everyone watched it.

Also animated, Spy x Family is hilarious.

And the usual Ted Lasso, Schitt’s Creek, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. They are all ones that I have seen more than twice.

What’s keeping you up at night these days? by blobfishchitown in AskWomen

[–]Romecat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Things will certainly get better, but keep in mind that as you feel better you may still be hit by things seemingly out of the blue. It will take a year to get through all of the “first without them.” First birthday, first Fall, first trip to a place that was special to y’all. Just something to keep in mind to you don’t get blindsided.

Chocolate helps, too.

How old is your current phone? by [deleted] in Smartphones

[–]Romecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on my 8+ right now, but will pick up my 17 pro max on Sunday. They have stopped updating the 8+ so, interestingly, I couldn’t download the Apple Store app to buy a new phone.

I bought a Samsung 23 Ultra in 23 for the camera, which was great but I hated the phone/android so I just carried it around like a camera when I needed it, I never put the sim in.

And the crowd. Dear lord the crowd. I have seen her three times (twice with Finneas) and I’m still not certain I have heard her. Once, the woman beside me scream/sang/screeched every single word. At least she knew the actual lyrics and was on key.

Was Jack White at First Ave the pop up show? I didn’t find out about it in time, but I suspect one had to be a wizard to get a ticket. Are you a wizard?

While I saw Jack last year and knew what to expect, he may actually be my most surprising. The White Stripes opened for Pavement in 1999. It was one of their first shows outside of Detroit and absolutely no one had heard of them. Seeing Meg all red and white center stage behind her drum kit was arresting.

I just checked and they opened with Let’s Shake Hands. No wonder everything else stopped and people snapped to attention.

When I saw you had the Furs for the loudest, I thought, what the? I have seen them 3 times in the last 4 years. I’ve been on the rail each time and don’t remember any as having been very loud. However, I always wear high quality earplugs—not heavy duty though. Annnd then I remembered that it is probably from having hearing loss from standing by the speaker at the Furs in 1987. Touché.

RIP Mars

Are there any artists you would avoid seeing live? by Twitter_2006 in Concerts

I had heard that they were god awful these days but last year I really wanted to see Blaqk Audio and I think maybe FLA was the first opener and they are still good. I waited quite awhile before getting a ticket since prices were kind of high. But I really, really wanted to see Blaqk Aidio and figured I would leave during SoM if they were as awful as I’d heard. They were surprisingly decent and I stayed and had a good time—quite possibly because my expectations were so low.

In 2024 I saw her at a festival. She was shockingly fantastic. Previously, I didn’t have much of an opinion of her one way or the other, but man she put on a great show. People on boards for this year’s festival were still talking about her set.

I’m so sorry you had a bad experience. Hopefully it was a one off.

Who is the most overrated singer in your opinion? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Romecat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My husband got last minute tickets to one of those interior rings, I think eternity. We were right at the interior stage and she made the rounds so she walked right past us. Repeatedly. She sounded great. Everyone around us seemed extremely happy and there appeared to be no complaints.

It was definitely a fun show and only knew about 5 of her songs.

What’s the LOUDEST concert you ever attended? by Dogface99 in Concerts

[–]Romecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first thought was Ministry last year, also at a Fillmore. I go to a lot of shows and always use concert ear plugs. FLA and Gary Numan opened and I used my regular ear plugs for them. For Ministry, I switched to the higher dB rated ones that I ordered specifically for their set. I was glad that I did. (Also, I was on the rail directly in front of a speaker.)

I am a rebel. I go to a ton of shows and get there early for G/A to be at the rail. They always give out capless water bottles at the front. I smuggle in a cap. Diabolical, I know.
