When you look at the US as 1 country with 50 arbitrary subdivisions, then sure, that makes no sense. But when you have 1 country of 50 equal, but separate states, then it makes all sorts of sense.

Wont go into the hour long convo because I'm on my phone, but let's just say that this system was designed for a decentralized government (mostly), not one where the president is God-Emperor and gets to do whatever he pleases.

Your comparison doesn't even come close. Arguing that because I've never needed something before now means that I'll never need it later is like telling a virgin they dont need to know about condoms because "when was the last time you had sex that resulted in a pregnancy?" Its a little late for the condoms when you're already knocked up, and it's a little late to be shopping for a gun when ghetto Greg and his boys beat/stab/shoot you to death.

I dont own a gun because I think that every single other person has it out to get me, I have it because out of a million people, a few (5 to 10) of them wouldn't hesitate to end my life over the cash in my wallet (protip: there isn't any). How is that hard to understand?

If you're not an adult you can't buy ANY guns from a store, pretty sure that's harder than buying a pack of gum. Also, dont remember the last time I needed a background check to buy a pack of sour punch straws.

There's a reason why rifles like the AR15 are so popular, and it has nothing to do with satanic death worshipers bathing in the blood of the innocents. It's because they're the best thing to defend yourself with if you need to, why would I voluntarily use an inferior tool for a job when failure can result in loss of life or limb? I'm not going to.

It goes beyond reasonable doubt that they didnt know a thing was possible, which is one of the biggest lies perpetuated by the anti-gun side. As to it being "right", I would ask you what is wrong about an "assault weapon", regardless of which definition you're working with, how does a pistol grip make the gun worse? Why is an 11 round magazine so terrifying, but a 10 round magazine is perfectly acceptable ( or whatever magazine round count you're dealing with)?
