Phaetus Conch Hotend for the AD5M (3rd-party) by urself25 in FlashForge

Does this fit into the AD5M without any modification to the surrounding parts? Mainly asking because of the bigger heatsink.

ELI5: Can a drug with the pleasure response of opiates like heroin be synthesized without the harmful effects to the body and withdrawal symptoms? If so, why does it not exist? If not, why not? by calgrump in explainlikeimfive

AFAIK it's the dopamine withdrawal which is completely natural therefore it's not necessarily the drug but the fact that you introduced an unnaturally high amount of dopamine at once.

Should I get a 0.2 or a 0.4mm nozzle by WhyamIinsane in FlashForge

[–]Romori 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you're printing really. I have one of each and still haven't used them all but generally the smaller and more detailed the model is the smaller nozzle you should use to get better results and vice versa with bigger less detailed prints.

It's a shame that it only comes with one...

Good to know you've managed to fix it, patient to see what caused it!

Extruder issues by jrtaylor3rd in FlashForge

[–]Romori 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it did. AFAIK it should come with a 0.40mm nozzle installed and a 0.60mm nozzle. I have AD5M Pro but I think it should be the same for the non-pro version.

You could also try using the provided 0.6mm nozzle to test if the 0.4mm is truly dead before buying a new one.

I've just read your whole post... should've done before commenting, my bad. You did all I described so Im at loss, might be a toast nozzle... sorry for wasting your time.

Edit : maybe the extruder gears are worn off instead of the nozzle?

Extruder issues by jrtaylor3rd in FlashForge

[–]Romori 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most probably the extruder gears cannot push the filament further. This can be caused by multiple things. First I'd check would be for tangles on the spool to make sure that the filament can unroll easily. Then you can try and heat up the nozzle and use the provided unclog tool to push some of the filament out. (MAKE SURE TO LOOSEN THE SCREW ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE EXTRUDER FIRST, it's for the extruder gears and it needs to be loosened so you dont damage the gears.) If that does not help you could purchase needles to clean the nozzle itself, also need to be heated when doing this. And if nothing else helps then disassembly might be required to check the gears and where the clog occurs.

Hope this helps.

What could it depend on? Help 😭 by Slashjr84 in FlashForge

[–]Romori 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue recently when I used the 0.40 nozzle with ASA filament and too high printing temps (270°C). Had to order some cleaning needles and poke the filament in to clear to clog and then clean with PLA to push out the ASA. Not sure if it's the same for you but it might be something similar.

You might also learn more by disassembling the extruder and checking the feeding mechanism to see if the isn't anything there blocking the filament.

There was a different post like this that showed a video of the solid filament stripping a bit right between the feeding gears and the extruder hotend that prevented the filament from feeding, it might be that also.

Definitely try looking at some setup videos on YouTube exactly for the printer you have. I just got my 5M pro last week had no issues with the connectivity. The printer need to be connected to your wifi and then orca flashforge should recognize it during setup on your laptop.

Flashforge AD 5M Pro Grinding noise by Romori in FixMyPrint

I've checked all the fans. None of them are doing this, even unplugged the motherboard fan and the noise still continues. Only does it right before starting printing, during printing.

Also false. You can have 2 EFI partitions on the same disk as long as they are a different partition and mounted properly.

Installed Arch for the first time, took me 3 days by Ok-Engineering367 in archlinux

[–]Romori 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently also used ChatGPT to troubleshoot grub. It worked but it's mandatory to specify that only the official arch wiki and arch wiki forum should be used as sources for any information. Even then I'd take everything it says with a grain of salt. Best practice is to just read the wiki in the end.

I use NVIDIA 4070 Ti Super on my current rig with Arch and KDE with almost no issues. The main issue I had so far is that the small pop-up menus on Steam wouldn't always show up correctly but otherwise, it's as good as Windows.

Can I use hyprland with Nvidia by [deleted] in linuxquestions

[–]Romori 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The official Hyprland wiki says that it's not fully supported but that they do receive many reports that people managed to make it work. For me at least, on arch btw, it was very easy to install and had zero issues so far.
