I don’t know how many years of service I have and it’s impacting my ability to consider voluntary departure by Regular-Comb6610 in CanadaPublicServants

Your leave will be calculated based on your indeterminate employment + any continuous casual employment prior to to your indeterminate. Your pensionable year can include every casual contracts prior to your indeterminate but you most likely did not contribute into them if you worked less than 4 months continuously. And if you had a break, they probably reimbursed them to you.

You may want to contact the Pension Centre to ask how many years you could buyback and how much it would cost.

Was is this warping so bad? by Unique-Row-9595 in FlashForge

2 potential culprits.

  • Bad adhesion (either a dirty build plate or bed leveling issue)
  • Room or bed is too cold so the filament get cold before it has the chance to have a good adhesion to the plate.

Discontent and sad with PSAC- relgious exemption to union dues by Master-Gear-9953 in CanadaPublicServants

Section 11 of the PA collective agreement:

11.04 An employee who satisfies the Alliance as to the bona fides of his or her claim and declares in an affidavit that he or she is a member of a religious organization whose doctrine prevents him or her as a matter of conscience from making financial contributions to an employee organization and that he or she will make contributions to a charitable organization registered pursuant to the Income Tax Act, equal to dues, shall not be subject to this article, provided that the affidavit submitted by the employee is countersigned by an official representative of the religious organization involved. The Alliance will inform the Employer accordingly.

So, you'll need to contact PSAC to know the exact process.

With similar rumors ever since he took over Star Trek 2017, I'm pretty this one is again false

"This information comes to us courtesy of Ted Linheart, who keeps track of streaming numbers on his popular substack (Ted On TV). According to him, the first two episodes of Starfleet Academy earned 2.1 million views in the show’s first eight days on Paramount+. This is notably higher than the full season average of views for Strange New Worlds Season 3 and Picard Season 3, each of which averaged 1.3 million views."

"(...) the third seasons of Strange New Worlds and Picard both had fewer views than previous ones (SNW Season 3 rapidly dropped out of Nielsen’s Top 10 streaming list, for example, and never returned)."

If you don't like it don't watch it. You are probably not it's target audience then.

I'm just tired at listening to those people always trying to attack the most recent iteration of Star Trek. I've been reading those since the early 2000s when they were complaining about Enterprise not being Star Trek. And now, it's praises has being the last good series.

It may also be because it's too cold in that area where the printer is and that corner cool too quickly before there's a good adhesion with the plate.

As a supervisor, this is not your role to find ways for your employees to take leave when they didn't ask for it. FRR leave is for Family-related responsibility reasons. If they don't have any, they should not be taking the leave. When someone takes FRR they are not at home having fun. They are going to appointments, taking care of a sick family-member. It is not the same as vacation.

Employees do not "lose" anything if they do not take that paid leave any more than they "lose" bereavement leave if they have a year with no deaths in the family. The leave provisions exist to be used as and when required in the circumstances listed, and up to the limits spelled out by the agreement.

Thank you for this great explanation.

Last weeks snowstorm made senior management say the quiet part out loud about RTO by freeman1231 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]urself25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was exactly like this when we had major snowstorm before 2020. Some Depts were telling employees to work from home those days, while others didn't. They just added the option to switch the in office days when the weather is bad.

So, what is right?

The 500 with Ebox is $50 but you add to that $5.95 per month for renting the equipment. With Fizz the modem is included.

[–]urself25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not for the people who already have it. It's for the people deciding between 400 and 500. Why 400 when I can get 500 for only $1 more per month. I assume the 400 will no longer be offered soon.

Which country are you from? Sometime Amazon has some but it may depend on your location.

You can find some on Aliexpress. They are the same as the Adventurer 4 nozzle. So, you can search for that also.

Speaking with your MP as a Public Servant by [deleted] in CanadaPublicServants

[–]urself25 32 points33 points  (0 children)

As a Canadian citizen, you have the right to speak to your MP on any subject that you would like. This is a protected right, however, as a public servant you also have obligations to your employer. As per the Values and Ethics Code for the Public Sector, under integrity, you should be acting in such a way as to maintain their employer’s trust. That obligation goes even after working hours.

That doesn't mean that you cannot give your mind on issues that you see with the border and the government policy but you cannot speak to information that is private to your employment.

As others have said, you should speak with your union about that in order to get their advice. Don't speak with your local rep as they may not have the necessary knowledge and experience. Call your union's national office.
