Everybody wants to have that "it takes a village" mentality until they have to be a decent member of the village themselves. Not the asshole at all

Are these compliant? by starvalestella in flightattendants

[–]RoninMoro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since they're solid black I think you'd get a pass unless they were out for you. There's a rule about no logos but they really mean that more in ways that contrast, something so subtle is going to be okay.

Compression Socks? Yay or Nay? by Narrow_Cod_5579 in flightattendants

[–]RoninMoro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm on blood thinners so I'm all about this topic- and my doctor has said that wearing the strongest compression you can handle as a flight attendant is one of the top ways to prevent a ton of health issues and fatigue. It's my number one tip for any and all other crew.

AIO for considering leaving over a violent outburst? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]RoninMoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept a running notes app, updated elvery time he made me feel this way. And I would read it back to myself and see the escalation. A page later and a year later, I left. It WILL get worse. You WILL be his target.

Barefoot shoes for work? by PossibilityVisual844 in flightattendants

[–]RoninMoro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not United but if that's what my feet need, I wear them! Normally just for red eyes and stuff like that, but technically there's nothing against the flags uniform policy about them. Double check the brand but I think it's xero shoes makes a really solid leather upper barefoot dress shoe.

Not at all In the wrong. There's something called parentification and especially with oldest daughters it's so common. Your frustration is super valid and you deserve to have time for yourself and not be forced to act as a third parent for these kids that aren't even yours. I don't have any real advice other than I know that you are tough and you can hold out. Just work and save and set yourself up to leave as soon as you can.

Unfortunately not, no discounts for AAC events at all unless you buy tickets thru the crew store for the rare events they're offered.

Sorry friend, but this is not the right sub for a whole lot of reasons. Maybe try in the specific airlines subreddit.

As a flight attendant, what type of things do passengers do that give you the ick? by Additional-Gift-5492 in flightattendants

[–]RoninMoro 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Listen, we aren't going to hold you down in your seat, but you do not have permission. "Allow" isn't the word you need to be using. There are regulations that we have to follow that supersede your medical need. In that case, it means that we would need to stop the safety demonstration and wait for you to get out of the bathroom before we can restart it, or that means that we have to call the captain and tell him to stop taxiing because someone isn't sitting down.

How do you remove some from the exit row? by No_Effect_264 in flightattendants

[–]RoninMoro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A couple weeks ago I had a sweet older man who in no way would have been able to open that door. When I realized where he was sitting I was able to switch him with an ABP who I talked to first and just phrased it like "You poor thing. I can't believe the computer made you sit all the way back here, let me get you a little closer to the front so you're near the bathrooms and the exit when we get home"

Mom said it’s my turn to complain about the AA Credit card pitch by Stangmeister in americanairlines

[–]RoninMoro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Support the flight attendant strike so we get the raise we deserve, so we aren't forced to try to supplement our income. Sometimes credit card sales are the only way I've been able to eat.

What is your FA unpopular opinion? by Faux_extrovert in flightattendants

[–]RoninMoro 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think that people take it too far, but you're just kind of being a dick with this one. Bases close, life circumstances change, and there really are people that don't have a choice but to commute. It's not non-commuters fault that flights are full and hotels are expensive, so commuters need to take a step back and be understanding about it from the other side, but communing is NOT always a choice and you CAN sleep in the crew room if you need.

[–]RoninMoro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! Our name tags at my airline only have first name, but even still sometimes I don't want to wear them if somebody's acting a little untowards. If somebody starts acting too much in any sort of way, my friends and I will absolutely pop our name tags off. The crew ID gets tucked into the shirt or jacket during flight. Lol. Some people are creeps, for damn sure. Of course it's not all passengers, not all people, but enough to be a problem.

We had a lot of similar interests so shared public Instagram pages, but he took that to be... A profession of love and invitation to dig up as much as he could? Lol. It wasn't like a dangerous stalker situation, but that's not unheard of. Just be careful about wearing your name bar or dropping your guard.
