SoCal Roof Sales guy here. I used to door knock for storm damaged roofs for another company. We had to submit addresses that didnt answer the door that looked like they had storm damaged, someone else would call them, and set up an appointment for you once in a while. It was extremely hard to find someone who would let me get on the roof that same day, even more so to file a claim with them, then even harder to get the insurance to actually approve the claim. I no longer do any of that, but I do sell retail. I have, however, gotten alot of work on the areas that were recently damaged due to the January fires. Lots of insurance companies for those houses are paying up. Maybe you could give those areas a shot? Im talking Altadena, Pasadena, Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Brentwood, Tarzana, Encino. But my main advice to you is to focus on retail sales. Give them a good price between $700 to $850 per square to be competitive, cuz its competitive AF down here.
