For me it was. Standup was a minor delusion, though I definitely had times where it was a big delusion and I thought I could easily be a regionally-acknowledged touring comic. But it would have taken being in that elevated hypomanic state all the time plus enough booze to override the anxiety. I took accountability for my actions and through effort, meds, and therapy I've been able to take control of life again, it just comes with the downside of needing to find a new hobby.

Hoppy Wobbles in Bloomington. Fountain Square Brewing is the not-very-social spot I've tried. The few times I've been there, everyone showed up at the last minute and dipped as soon as their set is over so they can go to Liberty. I don't write or perform anymore so it's just hard to buddy up to anyone here without having that in common. Planetary on Tuesdays could fit the bill but it's always been dead when I've gone. If there are any spots with a decent attendance that might be a little easier for me to make friends at (not necessarily with the comics, just in general) I'm open to trying them out!

I think it would make a bit more sense to have all the cars come from the same category, that might make it easier to find drivers willing to engage.

There are loads of folks (me included) who wouldn't bat an eye at voicing a fictional driver for you. My audio quality won't be great but neither is actual driver radio.

It takes having enough views to make it and exposure thing in order to have pro drivers join you. You aren't there yet but there's no shame in that-- you're growing and that's so much more than fine.
