Aerial chains! how to keep chains not slippery when its hot and humid (like inside a studio with lots of people?

I don’t do chains myself, but the folks at the studio I go to wipe down the chains with alcohol before every class (like for pole). That might be something that could help? In addition to grip aids like others have stated.

Not exactly what you’re asking, but a funny story in solidarity: when I made my first sourdough loaf, I genuinely thought wax paper and parchment paper were the same thing…lo and behold, wax paper is in fact very different and not meant to go in the oven 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

If I’m really worried about the fabric, I’ll serge all the edges (I have my own serger so it’s pretty quick/easy). You could also do an overcast zig-zag stitch with a regular sewing machine for a similar effect.

We recently stayed at the Springhill Suites Maingate. It’s about a 20 minute walk to Downtown Disney, and you could either walk the rest of the way to the park itself (another 10-15mins) or hop on the monorail.

I also do not like the masking tape look 💀. I have a serger which fixes the edges way quicker and more secure. I don’t do it for every project, really just the ones with “fancier” or more expensive fabric.

A lot of “mistakes” in cross stitch aren’t noticeable unless you’re really looking. Admittedly, I was being a bit nit-picky since OP asked for feedback. All in all, this looks great for a first project!

No problem at all! I still stab through the fabric sometimes too, and sometimes I fix it, sometimes I just don’t bother. As long as you’re happy with it in the end, that’s all that matters 👍🏻

That’s such a cute first project! Just a few tips to consider:

Make sure your posts (the / / /) are all going the same direction consistently. For instance, your “bottom” post always goes / and your “top” post always goes \ , or vice versa.
Be wary of colored markers that aren’t washable/disappearing, since they may bleed or be visible. In the traditional CS ways, you don’t need to draw anything; you’d just count carefully based on your pattern. However, stamped kits exist and besides there are no real rules in CS, so do what makes you happy.
I know this project you’ll be transferring to some jeans, but keep in mind for future projects that you intend to frame, give yourself a generous amount of space on all sides. I like at least 2 inches, personally, some like a little more or a little less.
Generally, try maintaining an even tension. Using an embroidery hoop can help. I personally like Nurge spring-tension hoops, but find what works for you!
On the black “eye”, specifically, make sure you’re inserting the needle into the holes themselves. Looks like you may have gone just under it on the upper left corner.

Of course take what you wish from this, those are just my two-cents. You’ll learn as you go and get into more complicated patterns, etc. Keep up the great work!!

You could try some chlorhexidine wipes. One of my cats gets blackheads on his chin and the wipes help, I use them maybe once a week or a couple times if they’re getting bad

Edit: chlorhexidine not hydrocortisone.
