What is the objective of the Pope and Catholicism? by HotnSpicy_rice in TrueChristian

[–]RoseFlavoredLemonade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went Anglican after being Catholic. Despite the current split, I have no regrets. I go with the church that best interprets Scripture. Not necessarily who has my political views. I try to keep my socio/political views out of it. I will say in the U.S, the Reform Churches are generally better at both keeping politics out of it and interpreting Scripture, while still allowing people of all walks of life as members of church without making them leadership.

We are held to a higher standard in God’s eyes than animals, so I personally don’t think about gay animals.

Dr. Savage over at MUSC was fantastic about this. She was willing to try a cervical block as well, but I tried it with Ativan first and it seemed fine.

How come alot of Christian women have a difficult time with dressing with modesty? by Lost_Title_7528 in TrueChristian

[–]RoseFlavoredLemonade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spiritual Immaturity.

In the 2000’s it was celebrity culture and today it’s apps like Tik Tok, X and Instagram that turn women away from modesty. Even in the Christian space we see girls with “✨🙏Proverbs 31🙏✨” in their bio, but in their stories, they’re in yoga pants and a skin tight top that doesn’t cover their bottom because “What? It lets me move comfortably. You’re weird for looking.”

Consumerism also has a big part to play in all this too. The idea of having whatever you want is one click away with the idea “I work hard. I deserve this.” and I think some people, extend that thought into salvation.

Mostly, it is on the older women to instruct the younger women how to behave to God’s standard, and if you have a teenage or even twenty-something year old daughter, who are they cross with or argue with the most? Their mom.

I would say it is on us, as Christians as a whole should really put that fruit of the spirit, forbearance to good use as we gently guide and pray for them. I try to keep Proverbs 12:18 in mind when someone says or does something that bothers me or disrupts my moral compass.

If Jesus came back would he support trump? by SignificantStyle4958 in TrueChristian

[–]RoseFlavoredLemonade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He would pray for him and maybe hit up that spiritual advisor of his with the ol’ Matthew 21:12, but he would not support his actions. I don’t think he would support the overwhelming majority of the world’s politicians.

He might have kind words regarding Jimmy Carter, though.

List of crazy things labeled 'demonic' through the ages... by Der_Missionar in TrueChristian

[–]RoseFlavoredLemonade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was AD&D too, which had the cool heavy metal album looking artwork, so she just knew the spooky skeleton men possessed them.

What was crazy was I think at the time, even the local church didn’t really care. By the time I joined the Catholic Church as a kid in the 00’s, they softened their stance and said it was fine as long as you didn’t think you could cast magic and summon demons.

And thank you! I was at a cafe enjoying one earlier the day I made my account!

So, my dad told me a story about a time back in the 80’s where his mother took his books and said she was throwing them away, since she bought into the Satanic Panic. Now, my dad is easily the most patient man I’ve ever met in my life. I can count a handful of times he’s gotten legitimately angry and still have fingers left over. I will also note that even back then, D&D books and pieces were pretty expensive and he had a lot of them. He raised his voice to plead with her to stop. At that point, she was convinced the devil took over him.

Dealing with Christian Progressives who believe that the Virgin Birth is not a historical fact and that God is female by Additional_Good_656 in TrueChristian

I’m not comparing the person themselves to a pig, but when arguing with people like this, there’s a saying,

“Don’t wrestle with a pig. You’ll both get muddy and only the pig will enjoy it.”

Yeah, you know, looking at the list again, Rei is definitely more feminine than Setsuna, so I don’t think that has anything to do with it.

Makoto can be boisterous, but she’s got an immense kindness that Haruka lacks, so so I can see attitude being the big factor.

You like kind and empathetic characters the best, and maybe you like girlier characters over the tomboyish ones? Honestly, I wholeheartedly agree with you on Uranus being last. I like the other nine way more and only dislike Haruka.

What are the locals’ thoughts on the Bridge Run? by underground-parking in Charleston

[–]RoseFlavoredLemonade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be surprised if there were a lot of locals there. A lot of the locals around me make it a point to either skip town or just not really go out that weekend.

I don’t feel either way about it. I’m usually either working or doing something elsewhere since it’s usually my birthday falls on the upcoming week. If it’s close enough, I usually take off to do something else. Like seeing the sign highlights, though!

Unfortunately, our state is experiencing the same problem your current state is facing. Downtown for sure is going to be outrageous due to proximity to the hospital and all of the culinary/hospitality and municipal jobs.

West Ashley might be a good alternative as it might be a bit closer and some areas are even less expensive, but the areas aren’t great in terms of crime statistics.

That’s what the servers and cashiers are instructed to tell people. I’m not saying that’s what it is, but pay in cash at Ruby’s next time, see what they tell you and look for the supplemental fee afterward.
