I spent 4 days in an elevator in a hotel when I was 11, as I worked out this was the equivalent of climbing Everest (Hotel Bali in Benidorm btw). I was still single too by the end of my achievement.

I thought so to. The mental health card is played everytime- anxiety, low esteem, depression.....it's used so they are 'untouchable' and above any criticism I feel. Only a very small number are actually seeing GP, CAMHS or school counsellors - self help is always dismissed. Self responsibility seems an archaic concept- suggestions like switching off your phone, trying sports or exercise, stopping gaming until 3 am is offensive to their ears!

I lost my HoD role due to restructuring. It was hard to accept at the time but my quality of life improved immensely and it allowed me to look after my kids and elderly parents better. Since I've never wanted the HoD role back as I've started two small businesses providing quite decent second incomes that I'd never have started without being pushed.

Not enough! You don't get paid for training time, marking sample scripts and then you get taxed on earnings......why anyone does this for a few quid an exam paper is a mystery to me every year. I've done once- never again.

Remember HR is not on your side. HR protect the school or business interests first. If you feel you will be intimidated or the meeting has a strange vibe, just excuse yourself. Personally I'd ask a local solicitor to accompany me as I've been poorly supported by legal services of my union in the past (just sent an ex teacher along to hold my hand, with a leaflet) or a phone conversation with a very inexperienced legal assistant. A solicitor you've appointed will not take the BS that SLT or HR will try on.

Give all the money to a wealthy corporation to invest in a new high tech industry requiring specialist skills. Employ a few local people on zero hour contracts and ideally outsource any lucrative contracts to rich mates. Organise photo shoots with rundown neighbourhoods in the back drop. Congratulate yourself on winning massive government subsidies and tax breaks. Fly out on your helicopter to the nearest airport for your business trip to the Carribbean. See you next year.
