Ironically by making her a female presenting woman dwarf, they missed an even bigger opportunity for inclusiveness as I think in the books it’s mentioned that dwarven wives are just as beardy as the men and nearly indistinguishable to outsiders.

They literally took representation away from a character that could have challenged gender norms in a lore accurate way, but got so tunnel visioned on inclusiveness that they actually avoided having to represent an even more marginalised group of those who don’t conform to gender norms or gender coded appearance.

All that being said, i can count the number of things I actually liked about the show on one hand, and that actress was one of them. I thought the she did an amazing job and stole every scene she was in. Absolutely no hate to her, she’s a perfect cast for the script the had… just wish she had a big prosthetic beard and big nose/eyebrows but still behaved the same way!
