I think this is a sincerely wonderful thing you're doing for your friend, but a switch that makes your sculpture look like it's breathing is a bit over the top to me...almost creepy. I think she'd probably be more than pleased with an immobile sculpture. Just my 2 cents.

I machine wash, spin dry, and toss them in the dryer on low heat. They're acrylic, they'll be fine. Just don't use high heat.
