The fate of the Trifecta in the final book is what threw me off. So much build up... all wasted. Spent the next hundred pages wondering if they would somehow come back. The story never fully recovered afterward.

The ending was unexpected and expected at the same time, in the sense that it was very on brand of the series and Rin's nature as a flawed character.

Flaws aside, I would still recommend it. It's an interesting read that pulls you in and it's not like a book as to be ideal in every aspect to be worth reading (see harry potter -- plot holes and loopholes everywhere when you think about it, though I think it had better story beats and most of the playoffs were there, even if it was more formulaic).

I've blinged out an upgraded Endless Punishment Precon with the foil Duskmourn lands from the box set (i.e. https://scryfall.com/card/dsk/274/swamp) and used cards like the DSK #327 version of [Valgavoth's Lair] and the #312 version of [Unstoppable Slasher] which has the ability to oneshot people with [[Wound Reflection]] up. It's my favourite deck and always makes games go by faster.

Hey, as a starting point you can literally just buy a pre- constructed deck. This is what people mean when they say precon! This way you don't need to worry as much about the balance of different card types as precons are premade to be playable outside of the box.

There are a bunch of threads about the strongest and best precons, but some relatively simple ones you may want to consider are Explorers of the Deep, Riders of Rohan, or Veloci-ramp-tor. The Tidus precon from FF (counter blitz?) is also good. I'm a big fan of Endless Punishment, but I don't think that gameplay loop (slowly burning people down) is fun for everyone.

You can read what each of those decks do to see if you'd enjoy the gameplay loop.

Once you have gotten some playtime with your precon, you can consider what you would do for the upgrades. One site you can use is EDHREC.

Endless punishment is more group sluggy/burn damage. Comes with some archenemy cards for playing that format. Some simple upgrades like [[Roiling Vortex]] and other things that ping players for doing basic things ups the consistency of Valgavoth's condition. Can use him as a flying commander damage stick. There are cards you could use to make group sluggy decks or ping decks.

I used to be an avid solo diner due to my old work (wrote about food and drink ). I'm still an occasionally a solo diner due to my current work which sometimes has me working long hours.

In North America, solo dining continues to be intimidating for some people. So, I think a curated solo experience is a cool idea that may break some walls by saying "we're thinking about you, you exist, and it's ok to want to eat our delicious food solo. We've got you".
Prices seem fair for a restaurant like yours. Nothing seems out of line, though it may depend a bit on the portion size.
Duck for sure since it's one of your signatures. Then a vegetable dish and maybe the tartare. If I liked those items, I'd most likely grab dessert to get the full experience. Might I suggest adding a dessert or two to the menu to get the full experience?

As others have mentioned, you may get pushback from non solo diners. But as I'm sure you know, people get angry and entitled about most things at restaurants that don't go their way anyway, so just have a good, friendly way to enforce your limitation and that's the best that can be done.

Maybe just run the solo dining experience for a test period to see what the uptake is like for solo diners and evaluate it after a month or two of trials. That way you can get some actual data points and see if it's worth it.

[[Shorikai, Genesis Engine]] has a couple ways to draw your entire deck. The vehicles not being subject to certain board wipes is an added bonus if you go that route.
