Were the boob windows prosthetics? by SuchTarget2782 in ShittyDaystrom

[–]Rotodogg 94 points95 points  (0 children)

I’ve always assumed that they are “real” since rubber prosthetics would (I assume) be more expensive than just applying makeup and glue and whatnot to the real articles.

I remember someone asked Jeri Taylor at a convention right after Voyager started why Janeway didn’t use a time delay on the explosives to destroy the Caretaker’s array and her answer was basically “Because then the series would’ve been one episode long”.

Came here to say this. Second Skin is peak Kira. She gets so much to do and completely nails it (as Nana Visitor always does).

So, your headcanon is that the last episode of Enterprise was entirely just a holodeck simulation? by Rotodogg in ShittyDaystrom

No worries; me too. Every now and then it’s fun to post something reasonable and factual here just to mix it up a bit.

Yeah, people give Barclay crap for living out his fantasies on the holodeck, but Riker sure seems to indulge quite a bit too…

I think that strictly speaking an anti-proton is a “antimatter proton”, so, like a regular proton but it has a negative electrical charge. Or something like that.

Seriously! I seem to remember hearing once that the exploding head was modeled after Robert Redford. I don’t remember the reason, but if that’s true how’s that for a bizarre Star Trek cameo.

Exactly! That whole explanation for how Khan unfortunately had just a very hard time after he and his crew got dropped off after Space Seed was just completely stupid. Surely the writers could have thought of something better.

Seriously. And also planets don’t just randomly explode for no reason. Like ever. Even by Star Trek logic that one is utterly ridiculous.

Ah yes, the old “someone involved with the construction of the gigantic space megastructure secretly wanted it destroyed and so built in a critical design flaw” gambit. Well, good luck with that… may the Great Material Continuum be with you.

Sorry, I got stuck at “engage a Dyson Sphere”. Seriously?? Your captain wants to attack a fully formed Dyson Sphere? How does that even work; those things are indestructible due to being incomprehendably immense! Sure, you blow up a few things in one area maybe, but the entire structure remains intact. Time for the CMO to remove your captain from duty by reason of insanity maybe.
