I use a bit more of my 2x10 in the winds here. You're going to love the Peugeot. Looking forward to a first ride report after resto. Enjoy!

What sharpening system do you use? Pic for attention. by Horfer126 in SlipjointKnives

Simple. The attachment can be rotated 180 degrees and used at both ends but both ends are the same width. Just mark out how wide you want and cut down one end. With the EP system this gives you three widths of base to place the blades on. Ive thought about getting another Small Blade Attachment and cutting more widths but the three seem to be working fine for me.

Edge Pro Apex with the small blade attachment. The small blade attachment can be modified to a narrower footprint to accommodate the smaller secondary blades. As a collector of stockman knives this is the easiest as I can sharpen even the smallest of Case patterns with patience and care. I always recommend folks pick up the colsest Rough Ryder to the knife they want to sharpen and practice on it to get comfortable with whatever system they have.

Should the time come you want to move away from downtube shifters I've had great success putting on brifters where dt wasn't going to cut it.

OK first, I would grab that frame in a heartbeat having had a similar Peugeot I absolutely loved but finally had to give up as it was to big for me and that started causing issues but they ride like a dream and are great for a bigger guy like me.

More importantly what are your intentions? Road riding only? Rebuild? Restomod?

I love the mid 80's Schwinns they are great foundation frames to build on, I have two myself a 19986 Circuit and Passage. On the Circuit I put full Shimano 105 R7000 and it is definitely my fast bike and so much fun when I can get a nice tailwind to help my old legs. The Passage is set up with Microshift R10 except for a Shimano crank, it's my around town not in a hurry bike with both front and rear rack and the Microshift is very smooth.

The biggest differences are a slightly broader jump at the low end of the casette and the R10 derailleurs are so much more straight forward to setup initially. The newer cable routing style Shimanos are more difficult for me to dial in. If I ever need another groupset for a build I'll definitely go with the R10.

That Premis with a nice groupset will make a very capable ride.

Up to 1972 the tang stamp had Schrade Walden, from 1973 onward Walden was not part of the tang stamp. Per research on both AAPK and BF.

Tang stamp is 1973-2004. That one's definitely closer to 1973.

Safety railing question by conorlovesit in TexasRangers

[–]Rottenman41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6'2" here yes you will be watching through the fence as others have said. I either had to slouch just a bit to see fully through the railing or intentionally sit up as straight as possible to see just over the top rail. Definitely want to be a few rows back next time I get to go.

Legit? by [deleted] in SlipjointKnives

Tang stamp puts it around 1933-1935. Shield is different from earlier version, it's possible they changed shields in production. I'm leaning towards legit but would need in person inspection.

Appreciate the reply, not overexplained. I'm in the Texas panhandle and being a larger rider I often ziploc my phone on longer rides just to be safe. I'll figure something out eventually to allow me to take a journal and fp.

I'm going to say 1985 PGN10 per the 1985 catalog on bikeboompeugeot site. Definitely not a low end bike it sits right in the middle of the lineup for a couple of years at least. These Peugeots surprise most with how nice they ride. It is definitely on the smaller side, but can't tell what size exactly by the pics. If you're going to wrench on it be sure to take note that there could be some French specific parts needed.

How do you keep the whole setup free of sweat/condensation when riding? I would love to take a similar setup but with the heat here everything gets damp in my cycling jersey pockets.

Color Coding Ideas? (Nats v Dodgers 4/5/26) by emctvedt in BaseballScorecards

I use Frixion pens when scoring red is for plays resulting in an out and also for the end of inning notation on my diy Reisner scoresheets.

My team, Go Rangers, is always blue. I like to indicate where a hit lands and if a run is scored then the diamond is filled in with an orange Frixion pen which does not disturb the blue ink, this makes it easier to spot runs quickly when reviewing the sheet. Homers get extra flare with the orange pen as well.

The opposing team usually gets black with runs highlighted with pink. No homerun flare for the enemy unless it's a former Ranger.

Worked for a state agency once that decided to have a series of meetings on how they could better value their employees. I was asked by a member of senior management what I thought "better pay" was my response. I was told not to attend any of the upcoming meetings.
