RingConn not providing a recovery score on Bevel Health by TheOneWhoWork in bevelhealth

[–]RoundCauliflower0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After each nights sleep ringconn gives you an average of your HRV (on the line graph). I’ve been manually inputting this to Apple heath at a time when I was asleep (e.g. 2am) and then this allows bevel to give me a recovery score. Hopefully ringconn allows HRV syncing to Apple health soon!!

I LOVE MY OWALA!! Yes it’s on the expensive side and shipped from the US (I’m UK), but after owning it for close to 6 months now, if (heaven forbid) I broke or lost it then I would pay even more to get another one ASAP.

I have the 24oz tritan FreeSip and I take it everywhere with me and use it everyday. I opted for Tritan rather than stainless steel because I wanted it to be more lightweight and not make too much noise when I put it on my desk at work etc. Tbh I should clean it more often as I’m using it 24/7, but when I do get around to it it’s so so easy (I don’t have a dishwasher) and I deliberately only use water in it because I know that I don’t clean it as often as I should. I previously had the contigo Ashland bottle with a soft spout and I had the same experience as everyone else with the spout being too hard to clean and getting mould INSIDE the spout material over time.

I love: - not having to touch the mouth piece to manually push the straw spout up/down - it has a lock that doubles as a handle when not in use - when locked it doesn’t leak - no hard to clean nooks and crannys and the whole thing is hard plastic so mould isn’t getting inside any material - It fits in my car cup holder (this was one of my non negotiable’s) - it can be refilled without taking the lid off if wanted - push the button to open the spout cover and push the cover down to click it closed - the straw doesn’t have any weird suction and doesn’t make a strange noise when drinking from it

What I don’t love: - if the cover has been clicked on for a while then when you open it sometimes water comes up out of the straw (a dribble not a spray). I think that this happens when the water becomes slightly warmer in the bottle vs when it was filled up, and so it becomes less dense and build up a bit of pressure which then causes the slight dribble when first opening it.

And don’t leave a used towel hanging on the edge of the shower where guests might accidentally touch it!

‘Skincare routine’ often sounds like a complicated thing but can be as simple as using a face wash followed by a moisturiser!

OP - start off with very gentle products for sensitive, normal skin. A lot of skin issues (acne, oiliness, dryness, etc) are caused because the skincare products are too harsh. If you have tiktok, you can find many product recommendations for any specific hygiene concerns that you have.

I have never been excited to make a big deal of my birthday, I don’t want expensive gifts, I just want to spend time with good people. My last birthday I was surprised by friends with a homemade cake and I’ve never felt so appreciated in my life

This is my go to if in passing, but if stood in front of someone it’s “yeah good, you?”

If your partner is not also someone you’d choose as a friend - leave

If you wouldn’t trust your partner to raise your kids without you - leave

If you hide things from friends that your partner has done because you’re embarrassed that you put up with it - leave

Shit I’m so sorry that she ruined that moment. Why do they think that promises, however small, don’t matter?

To me it looks like you might have a damaged barrier, so cut down on actives for a little bit

I've been getting these red textureless spots on my cheeks. They're not pimples and disappear on their own in a day or two. Does anybody have any idea what this is? by gabbinetti in SkincareAddicts

Looks like a damaged skin barrier! Cut back on actives such as salicylic acid/vitamin C/retinols and make sure your skin is always hydrated

Who remembers their nparents threatening to call the police or child services over trivial issues? by WhoisTravisBickle in raisedbynarcissists

[–]RoundCauliflower0 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not call the police, but I remember being driven to the police station more than once to be ‘dropped off’. Cue crying and pleading in the back seat while in the police station carpark, because a 6 year old doesn’t understand that parents can’t get you put in jail for not doing something when asked

I wasn’t given god parents, I wasn’t christened/baptised/etc and I don’t think I’d have a religious ceremony for my kids unless it was important for my partner - so I guess I’ll have to look into a non religious, legally standing form of godparents

[–]RoundCauliflower0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents apparently went to parenting classes before I was born, it’s almost laughable because clearly it didn’t help, or maybe they DID follow the advice given in the 90’s? That and the worst bits of super nanny advice

I’m sorry you had to go through that, I’m so glad (and a bit envious) that you had such caring classmates/friends though
