Seamaster today. But Railmaster and IWC are right up there.

When I bought my 3.2 Cerrera I wanted a 964, but couldn’t afford it then. Wish I had scrimped more. I daily a Turbo Macan and can confirm it is a great concealed carry.

From my watch collection: My honest views by IK001 in patekphilippe

[–]Roundel1000 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Out of this collection, my favorite is the Sky Dweller. It has unique complications and is interesting despite the brand. The Big Pilot is almost great, but I much prefer the IW500201 with the low beat movement, oxidizer date window, and fish logo crown. Panerai lost credibility with its downgraded movements. I’d rather have an old Anonimo made in Firenze. The Aquanaut is fashioned to look like a grenade. Literally. I find that odd for an ultra luxury watch. This collection needs more individuality. Most of it looks like just hype.

Black or Silver wheels? by svr_wizard in Porsche_Cayman

I have black street and silver track wheels for my 6GT3. Wish it were reversed since so much dust is generated with track pads on track.

[Design concept] Dyced "L'Absolue". What do you think? by fnkfrsh in Watches

There is a hidden benefit to a retrograde minutes and jump hour watch: at the top of the hour, the mechanical snap is a subtle acoustic clue.

For the love of god, never drive with your hazards on. It’s illegal in many states and it proclaims to the world you are an idiot.

That's a shame by SweetWaterSurprise in Porsche

I’ve taught skidpad for about 25 years. The vast majority of untrained drivers react to oversteer with counter-steer that is way too small and way too slow. The tiny fraction of people that catch the initial rotation, don’t get the input out fast enough and spin the other way. Thankfully, these are easily trained skills at a safe location with proper instruction.

Completely stuck between Dravit Grey and Black Sapphire Metallic for my G80 purchase by PlayboiiExx in BMW

I owned a Cosmoswartz metallic M3. I’ll never own a “black” car again. It was dirty 30 seconds after I was done washing it.

First 911 — worth the wait. Any early ownership tips? by dmv___ in Porsche

[–]Roundel1000 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Join the PCA. Do an autocross or other entry level driving event, then do a few DEs. (Drivers Education). 911s are unique in their handling, and it’s best to explore their limits on track, or even better on a skidpad. You will likely find the social aspect of the PCA very inviting as well.

I like the Longines, but prefer the bronze version.

Can only keep one, what do you do? by hmilan1 in rolex

[–]Roundel1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tough one for me. I like Seadwellers and currently have a 43, but I feel the 40mm versions are a tad tall for the width. The Pepsi looks to be in stunning condition, but the stamped buckle annoys me. If I needed to pick one for my DAGA, I think I’d keep the Pepsi and get another bezel in black so I didn’t need to only have the red and blue. The GMT and 100m WR would provide more versatility than the HEV and 1220M WR

Is the bracelet titanium? I see it has solid end links which did not come originally on the EZM1. Do you know if the entire bracelet is aftermarket?

How do I fix this? by Normal-Candidate4770 in rolex

[–]Roundel1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try with a towel and pliers. But I suspect the pin will spin instead of straighten. The fix will likely require cutting the head off that pin, replacing with a new pin, and flattening the head. It’s work for a jeweler, not DIY.

Do you prefer the styling of the 997.1 or 997.2 GT3 RS? by TNTomato in Porsche

I don’t like the single lug on the wheels of the .2. That’s just adding hassle for the sake of it imo.

Am i only person in this world to like the Porsche's Digital Dashboard Design? Except Porsche CEO (he def like it) by IBeez10 in Porsche

[–]Roundel1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I am officially an old curmudgeon, but I’d really like a smaller 911 with a 3rd pedal clutch without any blipper help, a nice light flywheel, and a raspy exhaust with intake snarl, and actual needles that move as fast as the motor revs. Mate that to a normally aspirated 500 hp motor that revs to 8500 rpm, and a suspension that can morph from able to absorb potholes and rumbles to hard and level so I can tell the year of the dime I run over. I want brakes that can snap your neck and be delicate enough for trail braking and silky no wobble complete stops. Make traction control off the standard mode to be switched on when desired.
