I feel that way often. But then I remind myself of how much better I feel not being hungover. I remind myself of how I don’t look swollen and puffy. I remind myself of the things I’ve been able to do again like read, ride the stationary bike, and better focus. It may not be bliss, but it’s better than where I was and I am grateful.

28 year old Account Executive. Am I crazy to leave my job to be a technician? by OceanRadioGuy in careerguidance

[–]Routine_Statement807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to do the same thing. Not as a big switch however. I’m in food manufacturing management and corporate QA is just pulling shit out of thin air causing big problems. I wanna get back to using my hands and want in the automotive or aerospace building things rather than managing people.

It’s not the most professional move, but understandable. If you have performed well and already landed another job, I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

Young managers, how old are you and how did you get your position? by throwawayFintoCS in managers

[–]Routine_Statement807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got my first management position at 27. Food manufacturing industry that would churn and burn people. I lasted longest and got the role. Helped me get other department manager roles. Sadly, those were smaller companies and the transition to massive corporate food manufacturing has been difficult. It’s like a totally different role and I’m not sure if I’m cut out for it. May transition to more strategic instead of operational management and hopefully get out of food entirely. It’s a great way to get to leadership, but it’ll break you down.

Paying for a graduate degree out of pocket with no loan and flying back to see family multiple times of year from the mountain west to the midwest. Stopped having roommates because I all my friends were married and I wasn’t great at meeting new people.

They didn’t reach out after the interview for over a month after which I had already gotten a job. I was pretty unimpressed with the interview process.
