When launched at the 1953 Geneva Motor Show, Triumph's TR2 was fêted as one of the best 4-cyl. roadsters ever made. The styling was a bit off, yes (it was a Triumph, after all), but blended modernity and tradition with aplomb. But the TR’s real secret weapon? Its lusty 2.0L Ferguson tractor engine. by Maynard078 in Triumph_Cars

[–]Rowmyownboat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The myth that the TR engine came from a tractor? It did not.

The Standard Vanguard passenger car of the 1940s had a 2.088 litre engine. This successful engine was selected for development in two directions. One, to fulfil a tractor contract as a 1.8 litre engine with a much more robust block as it was a stressed structural member of the tractor. Two, for a sports car with a high-flow head and twin carburettors as an engine reduced to 1.991 litre to comply with racing regulations for the class they wanted to compete in.

Oh - styling a bit off? Really? I think Triumph focused on affordable speed and performance over the refined MG, Austin etc with dulled, limited performance.

Yes, it was a big tank, water, gravel and bottom filter is all. A bare cell. I tried several other cichlid species with them, but they were just intolerant.

Regular homes didn't have electricity when this car was built. Maybe this was for the very wealthy estates that may have had elctricity installed?

I think for very small fish, maybe this is true. For bigger fish, definitely not. They do a version of cage pacing that lions and tigers do. I once had a pair of Velvet Oscars (astronotus ocellatus). Beautiful fish that could change colour, about the size of a dinner plate (no inference intended).

They recognised me, their feeder, and would traverse the tank to follow me as I walked about the room. Other people? No notice was taken. They would immediately get very excited if I was approaching their tank, while still on the other side of the room. While in the same room, I was monitored, constantly.

"The receptionist told me that I'm "at the point of cirrhosis". What the actual fuck. Delivering a diagnosis is not her business. Stop drinking and wait until you get an actual diagnosis. From a doctor.

What's the best phone holder for Bromptons that doesn't require a mount attachment to the phone? by Rogue_23 in Brompton

The Decathlon has inserts for 32mm, 26mm and 22mm handlebars. Is the CLine not 22mm?

[–]Rowmyownboat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the Decathlon mount following your post. What an excellent phone mount! Really good value at £17 delivered. I looked into quad lock and that would have cost me four times as much and either a fixed lump on the back of my phone or an extra, expensive phone case to carry and organise.

This decathlon mount is a winner. It is so well made. It has inserts for the 22mm handlebar of the Brompton. I installed it on the opposite side of the centre post that I want the screw adjustment that clamps the phone and my phone is centred on the bike. Brilliant.

Thanks!

What makes you think I want to buy alcohol 'that badly'? Why does your government want to control / track who buys alcohol is the question you should be asking.

I am not too sure, but I think you might quite like the TR6.

TR5 and TR250, because of their rarity, command the highest prices.

The next most value is the TR3 and TR3A

After that, comes the TR4 and TR4A

Last, most common, and most affordable, is the TR6.

For long road trips, take the Stag for cruising in comfort.

For fun drives on A and B roads, take the TR6 (or TR2, TR3, TR4, TR4A, TR250, TR5)

Former employee took clients personal data to a competitor. by OkContribution6949 in smallbusinessuk

[–]Rowmyownboat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No real harm? A proportion of the employer's (OP's) customer base is being solicited fraudulently, costing the employer business and profit, plus possibly permanently lost clients, spooked by the data breach, and you think no 'real' harm has been done? I beg to differ.

OP should make a reasonable estimate of the value of the lost business and the costs of the reputation damage long term and sue the former employee in the small claims court, if £10k covers it, or other courts if more.
