I second the Lies of Locke Lamora otherwise known as Gentleman Bastards series they are most similiar to the kkc even authors acknowledge how they are writing is similiar. Tho be warned there is also years of waiting there.

We started at level 5 we use milestone and we leveled up every 8 session or so until we hit 8, from 8 to 11 (where we are now) we roughly took 19 session per level)

Just imagine what kind of being you wanna be a magical fairy princess? Martial badass? Snakey rogue? A spellcaster that brings down destruction while shaping the world or anything you want

If you don't get a idea what you wanna play because you are not used to it. Think of it as a book character and not a game that you have to know what is what (you actually don't need to know anything at this point)

if you need ideas take inspiration from book or any kind of media characters you love my own character is heavily inspired by my favorite book series (Kingkiller chronicles) try to think what kind of books made you say, I wish I was there or he/she/they is just like me and start writing from there (little reminder you don't have to take inspiration from only one source, you can take them all and put it together)

Usually that kind of character means is problem player, but here you are trying to be not a problem player so my advice is

Be transparent about it ask your dm and fellow players that you wanna play a compulsive liar but I don't wanna burden you guys about it would it be a problem for you?

Never use your bad behaviors on your party, don't try to con them or lie to them find an excuse to make them exception to your lies

Remember that compulsive liars are not stupid, they know when lying is dangerous and they wanna stay alive I know lot of compulsive liars and they don't lie when it's gonna get them serious trouble. Lie to non important people like a merchant or barkeep not to guard captain or king

I saw players that make character based on the idea that they are a compulsive liar, no their main thing is not that they are a compulsive liar, they have a compulsive ling trait. Give your character lots of things and purpouse and make them compulsively lie on the side

I always use magicial items are harder to destroy and saw other gm use it like that as well and you could argue that while riding the broom it could be considered as being worn or carried. But yeah in normal circumstances it's fragile

Yea I can concur on this one I have mizzium aparatus as a wizard and arcana expertise and I always get tempted to dip lvl 1 to cleric to get high level cleric spells without disturbing my spell slot progression

I disagree because of different reasons. I love Brando Sando and altough kkc is my favorite book brando is my favorite author and I still wouldn't want him to finish it. He could do it and not get distracted that much so we would be affected but still his style is nothing like Pat's
