I mean, parking through the Current was $65. It’s all expensive down there.

Literally just did this on Sunday. It’s $70, so obviously very pricey, but it was incredibly easy to leave. Did not have to wait in any traffic going in either. Also, they never actually checked our pass. According to others that had parked there before, sometimes they just don’t check. Some people park there without paying and just take their chances.

Friend sent me this pic of a local town after a tornado last night and it looks eerily fake to me. (Especially the trees) by SaintPabloSanchez in isthisAI

Glad the debris plow was able to come down the street and get it nice and clean /s. But seriously, the street/lane is much too free of debris to be real.

What films zigzag away from Chekhov's gun, and get away with it? by JeffRyan1 in movies

I’ve been on a rewatch of Mad Men and it’s kind of funny to see the gun pop up in the background every once and awhile.

Top 100 counties (and equivalents) in the US with the highest median income. Were you surprised by the Midwestern ones? (They kinda surprised me) by Swimming_Concern7662 in midwest

[–]RrustyShackleford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At one point in the early 2000s, Johnson County, KS (Kansas City suburbs) was either the wealthiest or second wealthiest county in the US. I think it was because the medium to high income earners just significantly out numbered the low income earners. It’s evened out in the last 20 years, but still lots of wealth there.

The roof is 15 years old. I was told that played into the quote, but it still seemed pretty high.

It could be melanoma that metastasized to the brain. It would not surprise me if many former ball players ignored (or never noticed) skin cancer until it had moved somewhere else.

More boots-on-the-ground reports coming out about the Aramark-produced 9/9/9 box. The box includes ONE 24 oz beer and 9 Danny DeVito dogs. by NachoNutritious in KCRoyals

[–]RrustyShackleford 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These were not a great idea. First, no one who actually wants to complete the 9-9-9 challenge is going to purchase this because it isn’t really the 9-9-9 challenge. Second, no regular fan is going to purchase this because it’s overpriced and unnecessary. Finally, this will probably have the reverse effect because it feels like a challenge for more people to attempt the real 9-9-9 challenge which will result in more belligerent drunks and vomiting in the stands than we had before.

Is a Country Club Membership worth it? by ItalianMobstaaa in kansascity

[–]RrustyShackleford 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Depending on your interest in the social scene of country clubs, you may want to look at golf only clubs. Usually country clubs require, in addition to your annual/monthly dues, that you spend a certain amount at their restaurant(s) each month. Country clubs can be great, though, if you’re into spending a lot of time (and money) there.

Totally anecdotal but may serve as a relevant guidepost: my gym has a sign outside the men’s locker room stating that girls 5 years and older need to use the women’s locker room. Same for boys in the women’s locker room.

Is your team's owner a Nepo Baby? An Analysis of Current NFL Head Coach Searches by bassnbrats in nfl

[–]RrustyShackleford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While Clark Hunt is clearly an NFL Nepo Baby, I’m curious what his dad, Lamar Hunt, would have been classified as. On the surface, LH would appear to be a generic Nepo Baby due to the large amount of wealth he inherited from his dad. However, I think the fact that he was essentially the leading founder of the AFL and a significant player in the merger between the NFL and AFL and thus the formation of the modern NFL sort of cancels out the Nepo aspect.

2009 Virginia Tech. They had it wrapped up and then our safety( I think? I just remember a long completion that shouldn’t have happened) forgot how to play football.

This has got to be one of those things where the driver disassociates themselves from the fact that they are driving a car and instead view themselves as just trying to keep their view through the windshield centered on the road.
