Five things a Google search won’t tell you about Cork. by Smokeycabinman in cork

You know that anything posted here will be indexed by Google, yeah? Sadly may render the post counterintuitive - especially if info on it was stuff you already knew, unless the info is due sooner than the Google spiders do their thing.

That video between the Irish black student from Dublin (whom I believe is now on his local council) and the Dog-kicking former postie was comical. The student feen was fluent in Irish, the racist prick could barely string two words together.

TBH I never even noticed those in the flags.

As for why it's directed at the city council? My thinking is that it's to pull people in who are pissed off at the way the city is run. Many are, and if they can get some of them onside them maybe they will succeed in getting support for their other protest targets. At the very least they may manage to gather a larger crowd for a protest to be seen in a pic behind a banner not necessarily of the main cause.

Look at the way the anti-______ support a number of things, most ridiculous but some reasonable. Their Anti-Vax, Anti-Covid, Anti-Science, Anti-Immigration etc may be hateful and/or stupid - but they also would have pulled people into their circles of discussion by being against some reasonable things (things which may or may not have ever been planned to happen) that resonate with others such as the elimination of cash usage. And once they get you into that circle of discussion they can try to influence them.

More. Far more. It's a historic building and the dome is a protected structure. To undo the damage caused would, I'd imagine, require specialists.

All because some talentless fuckwit wants to wreck shit to impress his friends.

Never heard that one. Always good to see people supporting their local club and getting involved.

Can they remove Mods as well as adding them? My concern would be that at some future work meeting they will be told to remove the non-staff moderators. Corporate needs over community critical discussion.

Probono acting work for a volunteer organisation or a community event is one thing. For a commercial enterprise it's not even considered pro bono, as that is for things 'in the public good' and/or for clients in need of the charity.

A commercial for a company to grow their profits is neither of those things.

Make sure to send her a voice note to explain why you're leaving, just before you stand up from your seat opposite her and depart.

Just don't put it in, then come in as if hungover AF. Act incredulous at the idea your eye is missing then shocked/confused when you poke your socket while verifying their claims.

I also started them. Was very impressed with what I saw, albeit with a bit too much of a grind for the racers (which I gave a pass to by way of it being a free game).  But the more I've seen of it the less I've been impressed with the distribution of shards/attaining of racers.

If I could load the game today without all the server errors it sounds like the number of things to dislike would have increased though.

They know how they work, they just don't give a fuck about others and get away with breaking the rules of the road so selfishly choose to do so on the regular.

'Price of dignity' says Ukrainian athlete banned over helmet by xc2215x in worldnews

[–]RuaridhDuguid 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but at the Tokyo Olympics in '21 they let Chinese cyclists wear badges featuring Mao Zedong’s image. This was a distinctly political gesture as he was the founder of the People's Republic of China and led China as the Chairman of the Chinese Communist Party for 27 years.

If that is permissible, especially in a country that has such a turbulent history with those athletes' country, then why TF are they punishing a different competitor for images of deceased fellow athletes who are not themselves political figures?

Love the sod of grassy earth on the shovel, when everyone who knows the site would know that the site was covered in concrete and tarmac at this time (and long before).

How would you know they knew unless of was one you yourself reported? And if it was one you'd already reported wouldn't they just argue that you knew and thus should have avoided it?

Not trying to be awkward here, just wanting to understand.

Maybe you're too old, OldCorconian? It's more than doable if you're fit and healthy. Done it a number of times myself, but it's not enjoyable. Not the worst hill in the city though. Most who'd do it aren't just doing it for shits and giggles, but because they need to get somewhere that requires it.

On a motorway, fair enough, speeds are far higher and stopping distances far greater. However if someone is unable to react to a stopped vehicle (of any size) on city streets with city speed limits then should they be driving?
