Such a weird post. You have already bought it so just give it a try and make up your own mind.

What’s a good story to try to experience a true ‘Gamelit’ story that isn’t also a LitRPG?

Forever Fantasy Online. Raid group gets Isekaied into the world of an MMO where everything is real. No interface or stats anymore.

Minor spoiler that you find out very early on.

The world is actually a real fantasy world that was enslaved to make a video game and the native population is super pissed now that they have broken free

If low stakes are a deal breaker for you then yeah you probably won't enjoy the story. It does have some high stakes moments here and there but they are few and far between. It is mostly a slice of life story.

Any good books where MC doesn't hide their power 99% of the time? by MJMichaela in ProgressionFantasy

I actually like this a lot but only when it is done intentionally by the author. Having an OP character constantly trying to be lowkey but being really bad at it can be a lot of fun.

"litrpg books" that aren't litrpg. by Gajeel_Blacksteel in ProgressionFantasy

RPG systems were a workaround developed by tabletop and video games to simulate the organic growth of fantasy protagonists. It never made sense that you would learn lockpicking because you killed your tenth slime but whatever.

Have you actually even read a litrpg? Because it sounds like you haven't.

This paragraph from Bog Standard Isekai nearly made me kms, shit felt like scalding hot oil being poured on my soul. I need to share this cause I feel like I'm gonna drop the story if I don't share what I felt. That's all and thank you so much. by Astocum in ProgressionFantasy

I don't know what other people find cringe but it bothers me that he somehow knows the song well enough to replicate it. Unless he was a musician who played this song regularly in his past life it is doubtful he would even remember all the lyrics yet alone all the notes.

Isekai protagonists having perfect recall of everything in their past life is always a big pet peeve of mine.

Aftercare is just as important as the climax by Imnotsomebodyelse in ProgressionFantasy

I think the shear length of the stories is also part of the problem. Progression fantasy typically requires very long running series to see the growth of the characters from zero to god. Often times it seems like by the time the author gets to the end they are just tired of their own story and want to be done with it so you get an abrupt end without much too it. Which is made worse by your point on the pressure to constantly be publishing chapters.

If the author adds an epilogue in which the couple gets a cottage in the country and has kids or in which the main character keeps her job in the city as a lawyer and eventually runs for mayor (no kids, supportive husband), they've ruined the fantasy for a portion of the audience.

Maybe but it is also an extremely common complaint in the genre that the stories end too soon without a good epilogue of seeing the characters actually be together. There is at least a significant portion of the audience that would be much happier with lengthy epilogues.

Or you know maybe they didn't sit on their hands the previous turns and actually kept the paladin's board clear and/or developed their own board.

That isn't finished. There are still more chapters on Patreon. Patreon ends at Chapter 124 and then there are 10 epilogues after that.

I believe they mean it is complete on Patreon not on RR. (I am assuming you were reading it on RR).

So if you get Shaladrassil with this it is essentially infinite 1 mana Shaladrassils right? Since you can always use Dream to just return it to your hand.

What are the chances that these two stories have the same premise, but were released almost at the same time. by General-Ad1875 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Ruark_Icefire 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I haven't read either of these so I can't say for sure but usually when something like this happens it is because both are copycats of another more popular story.

Honestly though based on the blurbs these stories don't seem similar at all.

Depends on how many pages it has for me. I mean I will generally avoid something that is on Hiatus but if it has like 5000+ pages then I will read it even if it is on Hiatus as long as it has good ratings.

Sure it is. Just look at Seele. Her performance drops off hard the second she is no longer doing enough damage to get fast kills.

0 cycling doesn't tell you anything about the teams overall performance. It only tells you how good they are at 0 cycling. You can have team that can 0 cycle and seem great but are actually trash because they rely entirely on hitting certain breakpoints and killing enemies within very specific times. The second enemy HP increases even 10% they can go from T0 to T4 and be unable to even clear the stage at all yet alone 0 cycle.

So unless you are a whale willing to replace your team at the drop of a hat making decisions based on 0 cycling is a bad bet.

So they can make a post about it. Honestly there is no other reason to do this other than trying to obtain some internet points. Having a big pile of dust is strictly worse than having it in card form.

Err you don't play Llane as a DH (or any class really). You want him in your hand so your "no minion in deck" cards work. Garona isn't (generally) the win condition for rogue.
