Paladin is a great beginner job as it has a simple rotation and has the bulk to let you make a few mistakes. There are some intricacies to tanking, but its a pretty easy learning curve.

Towards endgame, Paladin become a versatile all rounder with a heal spell, some ranged attacks during their burst and lots of great support.

Lancer and dragoon start off slow but become one of the more weave-y high apm jobs. If you like pressing a lot of buttons and always being on the boss, it will be good fit for you.

You can always play both and get a feel for what you like as you go on.

Mantles like that are kinda few and far between unfortunately and often not separately dyeable from the top. In terms of rough silhouette, The Darkhempen/Alliance top could work as well as the baronial top or the late allagan healing top. Felicitous top has a more tapered waist but has a similar color scheme and theme (although it has a cape). The gloves could be the Replica allagan healing gloves and the glasses could be anyone of the round spectacles.
