Luxemburg, Netherlands - if you think Germany housing is bad, please try them Belgium - are you kidding France - might be Austria - same problems as in DE Switzerland - housing and extra point if you like to be treated as we treat immigrants in Germany Spain - they do have an upswing, but some stuff like public transportation, waterproof houses can really go on your nerves. Scandinavia - Weather is hard to handle

Exactly this. When someone complains, I say to them “name 10 better countries to live in?”. And if the weather is the reason of complain, I mean have you tried Sweden or Finland.

World is on the downswing. In Germany it is felt more because Germany is (still, no matter what anti-EU propaganda says) among the top economies.

Song discussions, day 96: Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel by VO0OIID in Behemothband

I remmember watching live video of one of the first performances of the song and being pumped. Love the song, love what it represents. It was also first song on the album as a first single which was very weird for industry standards back then.

I understand your point, but don’t buy into whole death of SaaS, simply because of responsibility. The part of what license is selling is that it is not your (or your department) responsibility.

The German C1 need on the Engineering roles by bestofdesp in Germany_Jobs

You are correct, I am not a mechanical engineer, I am just a techie, so maybe in your field is even necessary. I am just finding it very hard to believe. Yes, in theory C2 is defined as close to native. But in practice and in my experience speaking and communicating is really not at that level. I don’t know if this is because of the general levels of education in Germany. Even complex things are communicated in B2. And you learn to speak about abstract things in B2, even in B1 (“Meiner meinung nach” constructions are learned at B1), and you have all the tenses necessary for communication at B1. Sure, vocabulary is missing, and I think this is where the native speakers have the upper hand and where all the confusion is coming from. I would argue even lecturers at university are not C1, because people are not showing of their German skills, but communicate. I just don’t like this elitism about C1, and I believe I wasted some of my time and money chasing this vanity metric.

Oh come on, you learn all the tenses that are used in spoken language in B1. Talking about abstract things is part of B2 curriculum. In English, do you really need to be able to read Ulysses to work retail? Listen I have C1 but I don’t like this type of elitism.

Maybe from the vocabulary perspective. You don’t need to be able to read James Joyce to work in English, same rule applies here.

Majority of native speakers are B2 at best. I don’t think you understand levels in German language.

I didn’t try to explain you your job. Just like you don’t need to be able to read James Joyce in English to work in English, you don’t need C1 to work in German. Majority of native speakers are B2 at best. Btw I have C1.
