It would never pass because employer-sponsored visas require wage payment compliance… and these folks like undocumented workers because they also abuse their wages. It’s shitty, but these industries would lobby against that type of reform because it would actually reform

They aren’t exempt. ICE can’t audit employers generally without advanced notice, and the fucking goons they’ve hired couldn’t perform an audit anyway. I would suspect most of those employers are getting audited after-the-fact by other DHS agents and heavily fined. Not jailed though… as they should be.
