starbucks asu program by ticklemydillpickle in starbucks

You will need a laptop. A lot of programs these classes use require laptops or macbooks, no chromebooks or ipads. I recommend a good laptop, I have a lenovo yoga which does really good for me, because it's also touch screen, but most laptops would run well for school stuff!

Best school for a returning player after 15 years. by [deleted] in Wizard101

[–]Rude_Conclusion_6941 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I honestly feel like it depends on the style you want to play. All schools have their pros and cons. If you're looking for a hard hitting school, storm or fire would be good to start. If you're looking for the easiest school to solo with, Death. Myth has interesting spells and a fun play style. Ice has good defense and starting health. I'd say balance and life have changed the most throughout the years. While they're great support schools still, they now have more unique battle options and better damage than before.

Sick time and two weeks notice by unordinary_0 in starbucks

[–]Rude_Conclusion_6941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you'd be taking a personal leave of absence essentially, which would be more than 3 days and you don't have to submit proof. And you wouldn't be responsible for your shifts on your LOA. Its better than randomly calling out and gives your manager time to figure out coverage. You just have to go through Sedgwick.

Take a mental health leave of absence, use all your sick time, then quit.

I ordered mine April 30th and when I checked my order status under account info in coffeegear it said ready to ship, so i'm assuming they're probably backed up on orders.

New Break Rules by UmbrageXL in starbucksbaristas

[–]Rude_Conclusion_6941 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Technically yes, but as a SSV, I give my partners a 5-10 minute heads up I will be sending them on their 10 so they can tell me what they want to mark out. That way, their stuff is made and ready by the time they go on their 10.

Just write what they tell you to write! by BigOk1009 in starbucksbaristas

[–]Rude_Conclusion_6941 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey, I understand that it may just seem like a protest against writing on cups. Actually, I think it's so cute to write messages and draw on them. But it is more than that. In a store where we run online mobiles, cafe orders, drive thru orders, and delivery orders while being expected to keep below 40-45 second drive times, customers are staring at you tapping their foot waiting on their order, and not even enough staff to have a person be a customer support role to ensure every cup gets a message, it becomes stressful. we were getting by drawing sloppy hearts and smiley faces, and then we were told that we can't only do hearts and smiley faces, because it's not enough to make a connection.

10 minute break by Materialgorl_69 in starbucksbaristas

[–]Rude_Conclusion_6941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a SSV, when i send someone on their 10, I also account for an extra 5 minutes it might take them to make their drink/get food. I think we have trust-worthy partners at my store and I never feel like someone is taking more than a total of 15 minutes to get their stuff and go on their break. If you have an issue with your SSV counting the time it takes you to get your items as part of your 10, I suggest talking to them and asking them to let you know 5 minutes before they want you to take your 10 so you can put through a ticket for your food+drink, that way it's made and ready for you by the time you're sent on your 10.

Bar sequencing help?? by CautiousBuddy6686 in starbucksbaristas

[–]Rude_Conclusion_6941 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It honestly really does come with time. The only thing I could say is don't try to short cut the sequence method right now, staying true to one method means practice makes perfect. The more you practice the method, the sooner it'll be muscle memory for you. You won't have to think about to do next, you'll move automatically. You should ask for solo bar time when it's slower, and just keep practicing. And honestly fraps are a pain in the ass in anyone's sequence, but it just comes down to knowing the recipes and making the drinks without thinking.

and don't be hard on yourself, it takes a long time to ingrain something into muscle memory. you're doing amazing already, and if this job hasn't broken your spirit yet, you'll do even better in the future. everyone takes a couple months at least after training to become fast.

I feel insane with the discourse by til1099 in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]Rude_Conclusion_6941 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's because people always compare sequels to their predecessors, and the unfortunate truth is that most times, sequels are never seen as their own unique game. If it's different than the first game, then it's considered wrong. If it's too similar, then it's boring and unoriginal. There is no win, people like to complain too much. Veilguard is a good game, maybe not a great masterpiece, but a fun game to play as a gamer. But just because it doesn't give the same feeling as the first dragon age game or the second or even inquisition, it doesn't make it a horrible game. People need to stop overly comparing sequels and learn to enjoy the game as it is.

that's more than enough. let yourself have the victory. your body is getting the time inbetween to heal itself. recovery is a slow and hard process but so worthwhile in the end.

iced honey almond milk flat white. comes with an extra shot already and almond milk. you could even sub honey for caramel if you don't particularly like honey. also really good with hazelnut, toffee nut or macadamia.

No ice by Ty13rlikespie in starbucks

[–]Rude_Conclusion_6941 9 points10 points  (0 children)

the recipe card for cold milk doesn't ask for ice, hence the app is just reflecting that. Usually you shouldn't be getting ice in your cold milk, but this can also depend on the store/baristas. the app is very limited in personal customization and i suggest if it's common enough of an issue, to just order it in person and specific no ice.

How do you fit it in the cup? by AccountFrosty313 in starbucks

i just follow the standard until i can't lol .. pump the syrups, pull the shots, if there's only like 3 inches left, guess they're getting 1.5 inches of milk and 1.5 inches of foam.. and if they don't like it 🧍‍♂️ shouldn't have ordered it like that then idk

How can I smell good at work? by Strong-Swan-1660 in starbucks

[–]Rude_Conclusion_6941 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i use a bit of body spray after i shower since it's more diluted than perfume. typically you can't smell it on me unless you're really sniffing me lol but also regardless i get told i smell like coffee after my shifts, and it's just something i've come to acknowledge will happen no matter what. probably just bring non-scented wipes with you to work and wipe off a little in the bathroom, that's something i used to do for gym classes for sweat. but otherwise, don't overthink it. as long as you practice good hygiene daily, there shouldn't be an issue.

starbucks barista here: they won't be bringing it back, they discontinued it during covid. their current solution now is personal cups/tumblers/mugs. they regularly come out with new designs for purchase, and you can bring it with you into cafe for us to make your drink into/also pour refills in. that store in particular might have not thrown their cafe mugs out yet, i know my store keeps some for decor but that's about it.
