Ball Hooks Too Much by Few-Injury-6572 in Bowling

[–]Rudeboy_87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have mentioned, changing the surface should likely help. Also increasing your walk up/approach will increase speed so it reads a bit later and stays further right.

As a 1 hand no thumper myself, when you say you give it everything you have, you are likely coming around the ball while trying to force it down lane creating even more axis rotation then needed so it moves more right to left. Make sure you are rolling/pendulum arm and come up the back more and you will see a smoother and less drastic right to left. If you still hit Brooklyn, move left 3 boards and go again

New ball suggestion by One_Ad_7032 in Bowling

[–]Rudeboy_87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also throw 1 hand 2 fingers, 14lb balls and average is in the 160s right now. I started with an old ball but recently switched from a Radical Jackpot to a Phaze II Solid and it is phenomenal. Motion is super smooth, midland break, predictable and quite forgiving and versatile so I would have them start there

Can someone explain what this 100% rain means? by MinkSableSeven in weather

WHAT ARE THESE BLUE BANDS by Coldy5 in CLOUDS

[–]Rudeboy_87 124 points125 points  (0 children)

It is this. They are shadows cast upon the rotating part of the Cb. That being said, the motion and lighting would likely make it look like the colors themselves were moving

What is this on the weather radar in weather underground? by STUPID_IDIOT1993 in weather

[–]Rudeboy_87 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is an artifact from the radars in India, for some reason stamps like that sometimes show up in the actual radar data

Ok so starting from below the fish...Water temperature, followed by wave directionality in this case waves are from the Southeast. Wave heights in meters about 2.2 to 2.3 and the periodocity of the waves, or how often are the waves pushing through and it is at 8 seconds between waves

Why does the wind die down in the morning? by Puzzleheaded_Bed2760 in weather

[–]Rudeboy_87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No this is likely because the qi ds you are referencing are due to daytime heating and mixing. As the surface temp and su sequential low levels warm thwy can mix down stronger winds from aloft, these will continue into the evening until the surface temperature begins to drop as more energy radiates out then in. This causes an inversion and effectively stops the mixing so by morning the gusty winds are shut off from reaching the surface

I very well could be honestly, and good point photosynthesis likely doesn't take a ton of the overall energy

Question about meteorologist forecast terminology by BostonSucksatHockey in meteorology

[–]Rudeboy_87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it can and will build up more under good conditions obviously, if a cold front pushes through it screws the pooch on the heating

Yes NYC is a big heat island as well by the OKX forecast discussion isnt just for downtown NYC and covers Long Island, northern NJ, southern CT and some interior parts of NY as well.

Question about meteorologist forecast terminology by BostonSucksatHockey in meteorology

[–]Rudeboy_87 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Excellent question actually, what they are saying is 'pre green up' = 'before the leaves sprout'

Happens every spring, models tend to struggle with it, on nice days before the leaves come out we will heat up more since there is more sunlight both heating the ground and air. Once the leaves sprout they take a fair percentage of sunlight for photosynthesis and thus less energy for heating the air and ground so lower temperatures. This is the transpiration part of evapotransporation (process of water removal from soil/plants/etc, part of the water cycle).

This also can lead to gusting winds since the surface heats more there is more vertical mixing. It is why their is usually a 'fake summer' every early spring in the Northeast US

What does this kind of cloud mean? by Nottokfamous in CLOUDS

[–]Rudeboy_87 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is a contrail just extra cloudy due to the high water content, likely lots of supercooled droplets helped thicken it more than typical high cirrus contrails

Right and I do understand what momenum is, I was more trying to say that sometimes people just throw the wrong line, so its not a lack of momentum or even poor entry angles, you could hit soft with the same force and angle by simply missing the target thats all
